We find out if a safety certificate will be issued for the new West stand tomorrow.

After conversations I have had with some of the various builders working at the stadium this week, I am not filled with confidence.

We have already been warned our table may well be back in the Heineken lounge for the first game. and told "its all in the small print mate, we promised nothing" in true City customer first fashion!

    I await with interest?

God knows what they do if it is not cleared.
Where do they put all the lower tier fans that have sold out already.

Pretty sure those fans will stay in the lower tier, this certificate is for extra seating in the upper stand I thought?

Its not! it's to open the whole stand... the safety aspects like emergency lighting and tannoys have to be working. All exits and fire equipment in place and up to standard. All the conversations I have had are regarding the electrics with rumours of several companies walking off site due to non payment and penalty clauses against them.

I'm hoping its all rubbish and we're good to go.. but...

Well the stuff you've mentioned above is pretty simple and standard stuff given the start of the season is 3 days away, so if the certificate fails on any of these then heads should roll internally !!

IF the certificate is not granted, they will have to move fans into the away section of atyeo as WIGAN HAVE ONLY SOLD 1000 tickets.

    Thats rubbish !
How can a head roll internally ?

Anyway, I am sure we can fit 15,000 into a stadium that fits 27,000.
A bit of vaseline sometimes helps <yikes>

Our boxes won't be. just had an email to say they're not finished and we are back in the Heineken lounge.

I have to level some blame at the club here as they were obviously not monitoring it, I started a thread weeks ago saying I would be amazed if it was open.

Although I am glad that all the STs can sit in their seats, I'm pissed off that we won't be able to share the opening of the stand on its first day!

Disgusting,I really am amazed that club officials have not been on top of this.
Absolute joke, they should have been working 24/7. to get that stand ready.

Why dont you walk around to the lower tier and find an empty seat in the wings?

Yes, there is a room by the Lansdown suite that has been given to the trust for the time being apparently.

They will then be returning to the legends bar above the Dolman entrance by the old turnstiles. The club have made the place safe and put in a lift etc. the trust will be decorating etc with their own funds.
