I hope they make him captain. I said that they should make him captain a few months back, regardless of Ash staying.
Hopefully we'll sign a new defender now as the Dutch guy in a way was Bartley's replacement, unless we go Fed, Amat, Dutch guy and the kid from Utd? Thank God we've got Amat, who is ready to step up imo (potentially could be better than Ash in the future) Ash will be a big loss, but I'd rather lose him than Gylfi or Ayew.
We'll need 11 captains soon , personally I'd make Cork capt , Siggy is too busy whizzing around and trying to do be everywhere , someone a bit more composed on the ball would be my choice, either a centre half or centre midfield player who can read and control either the defence or the attack .

TBH you can't blame any of our players wanting to join arsenal, because they can have a chance to play in the CL. But to sell our captain and most probably one of the best CB in the premier league to Everton which at best will play in the Europa league is another matter. Only logical explanation is that he's after a bigger pay cheque. Everton are a decent club don't get me wrong but they are at the end of the day a mid table club just like us. If he does go I'll be fuming because who out there can replace him. Fernández is easily replaceable with Amat or even Van Der Hoorn but I don't see them being as organised as when Ash is in the squad. I know in his absence we were fine for a few games last season. but I doubt anyone will be as consistent as he is and put themselves in front of everything. He IMO is just as important as keeping Siggy. Rant over...... Until it's official
Gylfi as captain ??? The best captains are mainly from defenders. they see most of what's going on. Gylfi or anyone in attack is not suitable.....
Of all the in and outs ....well , I guess there's just outs mostly , no one deserves it more than the captain . I hope he shines at Everton ( if he goes ) and will never have a bad thought about the guy that's as most responsible as anyone , for leading the charge through the leagues to the top . He's got a few good seasons left in him ( and I mean good ) and he needs to do this and we should send him on his way with good wishes and memories ...Your a good man Ash and will be missed.
