It was hard to tell. It was just a ridiculously fluid formation and our players were popping up all over the pitch, particularly the 3 behind Sturridge.

We'll that's no harm as long as they are following the plan not just all hiding centrally as lallana likes to do.

Lallana annoys me. Lots of touches and sideways and back passing making us play in front.

I really really don't rare him.

I like we've seen new competition added. I hope ojo, mane and Firmino come through as the 3.

Sounds like Klavan has done decent then (not seen ether game myself). CB's you don't need to spend £20m sometimes, looks at most reliable CB's and you'd say Kompany, Williams, Shawcross, Alserweild, Vertonghen, none were ridiculously expensive when you compare to Mangala, Otamendi, Sakho. A solid player that doesn't make mistakes is all you need at CB really.

He was one of the best defenders at the Euros. I can assure you he's exactly the same player as he has been for the last 2 or 3 years.

He's a very good premier league centre back but not good enough for teams that have ambitions of finishing top 4, he would've probably improved us more than the likes of Sakho, Lovren, Ilori etc. did though.

Ermmm and when i saw him skinned by any decent lad with pace i was imaging it?

Trust me. He is not for a high sitting defence like we need.

Hed be fine for leicester for heading balls out.

Hed not be fine for city who will need more.

I think it's not icc so it will be 45mins max. This game I think is stupid as we should have come home after milan to make most of training time. This game inserts an unnecessary plane trip and loses us 2 days.

I think we did OK on tour but this game is one too many.

I agree with that. I can see that Klopp and co clearly wanted us to play as many games as possible in pre season, but this could have been done in the UK or short trip in Europe.

the stadium is not read at home so it is a unique season in that.

but... I just feel if you are going to fly about 3 hours or somethign the training goes out the window completely. we will see.

    Its one extra game.

You said his legs have gone. I said they hadn't, and that he's at exactly the same physical level he's been at for the last 2 or 3 years. I didn't say that he wasn't slow to begin with or that he'd suit a high defensive line, that's exactly why I said he wouldn't really suit a team with ambitions of a top 4 finish.

That said my main point was the likes of us, City, Chelsea etc. would've probably been better off signing Williams for £10m a few years ago than going for the likes of Lovren, Mangala, David Luiz etc. for x2/x3/x4 of the money and they were being dragged all over the shop by mediocre premier league strikers.

Not a fan of Williams at all - but I understand the argument of paying a smaller fee compared to Mangala and most certainly Lovren etc.

But we should still be Aiming higher though. <ok>

You just know what you're getting from him. Hardly ever misses games, 100% committed, solid 7/10 performances each game. With Lovren you have no idea whether we are going to get the dominant Lovren who wins everything and carries the ball out of the back with confidence or the sunday league one that seems to have a hard time standing up.

Definitely should be aiming higher though, agreed.
