    Even though they'd probably rather wait till his contract expires than through in a player for him, who'd you realistically take in a swap?

    My pipe dream would be Aquilani.

    Maybe Daniel Pacheco?

    rumours back in may time (I think) were that pardew would only let him go if we got jay spearing in return.. may make sense now as joey is going. More cover. decent player....

    As much as i love Aquilani we wouldn't especially need ANOTHER cm...Pacheco would be pretty decent though, or we could do them a swap for that Andy Carrol fella (dunno if you've heard of him) <whistle>

    Don't think Liverpool would part with Spearing, they have hard ons for young English talent.

    Philipp Degen - 28, covers a number of positions (RB/RM/LB), has been told he's not needed. Swiss international so could be good cover.

    £8m+Degen would be an okay deal.

    Id take any of the ones mentioned if we got cash as well for some of them (in the case of Ngog I would want at least £100m though)
