We will have recouped some of that in loan fees, but overall it has held the club back over the last three years and it's good to have closure on it so all concerned can move on. It was wrong for us and wrong for him.

Agree Rick - an unfortunate episode.

I can't help feeling all the hype surrounding his arrival heaped too much pressure on him which he just couldn't handle. He's gone now, so hopefully he'll do well back in Holland - wishing him well.

Funny how some players get slammed, and others leave with best wishes, isn't it.

He earned more in the short time he was with us than I've earned in my lifetime, and for what? I'm finding it hard to muster anything other than 'Good Riddance!' <ok>

I'm not turning this eulogy into a Hughton bashing thread, but having taken such a giant leap, financially, for a club like NCFC, he didn't make much effort to construct a team around RvW to showcase his striking talents. Plus the player himself appeared to get disenchanted with life in God's own county quite quickly so I'm inclined to agree with Gandy. Sod off back to Vitesse - and we'll beat you guys 3 - 0 next time we meet without Ian Crook and Efan Ekoku, so there :emoticon-0110-tongu

Meamwhile, back to McCormack. Sky Sports are now saying that we've put a new bid of over £10m for him and are waiting for a response.

Interestingly, they also say that Ipswich have made an enquiry about him. <laugh>

Yeah I saw that Rick, the Binners couldn't even afford £10k ! <laugh>

I look at him as a young man who took a chance to achieve his dreams.

It obviously didn't work out but there were other factors involved CH for example, he was never going to fit into the deep midfield that we played under CH, the injury, Snodgrass incident, Fulham away phantom pass.

His confidence was shot to pieces at the end. I know he earned loads of money etc........ but I will always feel sorry for both parties that it didn't work out because I really wanted it to for him and for us.

But, as the mercurial :emoticon-0112-wonde Paul Lambert used to say, "we go again" - hopefully after Steve Stone has signed a rather large cheque made out to Fulham football club?

Just a sad affair all round. Money a club like ours can ill afford.
I've already wiped him from my memory.

Back to RvW for a second, I know he was never going to play a major part this season, but by letting him go now AN is more or less duty bound to get a replacement in asap, as to go into the season with just Jerome and hardly-ever-likely-to-feature-Lafferty would be complete madness.
He's forced his own hand a little - and Fulham will be well aware of this fact <yikes>

Massive risk on McCormack huge transfer fee and wages for someone fighting to keep Fulham in the Championship.
At 30 he won't have any resale value either.
Let's hope it pays off .

I reckon this guy took twitter a bit too literally and this was his way of trying to bolster the ITFC kitty to make the McCormack pipe-dream into a reality ;)

I reckon its a cunning plan by ourselves to push the price up, test the resolve of you guys!

either that, or their best bar steward is called Ross McCormack and we are trying to poach him to improve the half time service!
