Whats with the charges to buy a ticket? The shop staff are already there getting paid, it would be a good idea to attract people to the shop to buy a ticket and then they may buy something else. An on-line booking still needs a worker to process it as does a phone call but ones free and the other costs 2 quid.

Zones, categories, stripes, charges if you pay like this but not like that, concessions here but not there...what a load of gobbledegook.

Why does it need to be so over complicated?

Assuming that there's 6 Cat A games, 10 Cat B and 3 Cat C, then the cheapest membership is £252 against a match day price of £351 and most expensive membership is £486 against a match day price of £579.

Thanks for getting out the calculator - that's better than I thought.

Still ridiculously over-complicated and fudging the concessions issue - but have they done enough to stave off protests from the average match-goer regarding the scheme?

    Hmm

On the face of it it's better than might be expected, apart from reducing the number of young people outside of the family zones

Mind you I can't remember the prices anyway so no idea what level of 'concession' it was when this seasons promise to existing families of not increasing the cost runs out?

It has already stated there will be 10 Category B games and if they are classing Leicester as a Category A, along with the standard big 5 clubs (not including Spurs), that only leaves a minimum of 3 Category C games.
If you buy online you do not get charged, however in person or phone sales cost £2.00 and if you want Zone 1 & 2 for Leicester you can only buy over the phone so the saving is countered by the charge.

But if you include the £84* joining fee then there's very little saving and they won't be selling any more memberships.

The issue here isn't the Premier League's lack of desire to intervene. It's that their rules aren't clear enough. It may have to be settled by an independent commission.

<laugh> just what i was thinking.

I'll be ****ing gutted if I'm surrounded by kids in Zone 2 FFS

Again it looks good but FFS the Allams need to do some better PR and marketing and explain things.

My estimate is similar to OLM's, I reckon that the zone 4 saving for a membership is about £80 (negated by the £80 joining fee if you are a new membership holder).

The new advantage you have compared to before is that you can bin the membership off mid season if your circumstances change and avoid paying for the full season. That has a convenience as much as a cash value.

This cant have been the initial plan can it? Strikes me that they are just tying themselves in knots in trying to keep everyone happy, rather than just admitting they ****ed up and climbing down?

Looking at it again, if you add the £84 joining fee, there's absolutely **** all point in buying a membership...

Assuming 6 Cat A/10 Cat B/3 Cat C, with £84 joining fee, cheapest membership is £336 against £351 and most expensive is £570 against £579.

The joining fee is a one-off, but anyone looking at it for just this season is going to see little point in joining.
