Don;t ask me Dad that question though... You'll get the whole "I knew lads working down the pit for 4d a week" ****e and "No-one is worth that much" (said with the high pitched voice that everyone puts on when imitating the older generation!! But, in short, He's not worth £5m - he's worth far more!!
The club are idiots if they don't just get it done. 5m Today, in 5 months he could easily be worth 15m once on a long term contract with us. He impressed last season and if he does the business for another 5 months every EPL team will want him and we can name our price. The club are not stupid (well I hope not) so I expect this to be sorted very soon.
He'll go up to £15-20m the second he signs a long contract I think, agreed mate. Another good season and maybe an international cap and his value will rocket. It becomes tough to keep him then though.
With M'Villa its a win win situation, as long as we don't stall on it, makes sense to get the deal done asp. The bonus is the buzz it will give the club coming into another premiership season , just gauge the reaction on this thread then multiply it by 50,000. and you get the idea.
This is a big thing, the Sam thing deflated us a bit, great, swift appointment took us back, and this would have us flying cos we all know the lad is pure class. We still need more of course but this is a perfect start, a genuinely top class player done and ours. Where's the announcement SAFC!
When you see Joe Allan go for £13m, I think £5m for M'Vila is a snip (regardless of the contract situation). Perspective...
