I don't think he's familiar with the standard journalistic technique of asking questions for the listeners or viewers benefit either, questions posed by producers, the pundits probably know perfectly well what's going on

Much as I liked Steve Bruce as a man, and am forever grateful for the success he gave us, I don't think he had what it took to be our Premier League manager, he probably got told his potential signings were crap, so decided to chuck it and save himself more grief. He will get another Championships side to the Prem, and very good luck to him.
