War Decree favourite ahead of Boynton, seems an odd one to me. I can't see any reason why the form of the Superlative would get overturned.
Three I like tomorrow; FIRE FIGHTING 2.00 Goodwood 10/1 BOOM THE GROOM 4.20 Goodwood 14/1 OATHKEEPER 5.15 Galway 9/2
Great to see BRIAR HILL out again tomorrow this time over fences - looked every bit of a chaser and altho since his bumper win at the festival things haven't gone to plan- he looks like he will be very well suited to some fences and will like the good ground! And should have too much class for this field
I too have unfortunately backed Fire Fighting 8lb lower than when 3rd in this last year and looks to be a horse coming back to himself based on his last run he had when very badly hampered but flew at the finish also the MJ factor at Goodwood can't be ignored and 8/1 a pretty safe ew bet
Not been the same horse since his nightmare in the Albert Bartlett in 2014 so 10/11 is skinny enough even given an average line up. Agreed though hope he wins to get his career back on track.
I apologise in advance for ignoring the decent racing at goodwood but I've been pointed in the direction of Perth and a lowly handicap hurdle. I've been given this as a tip with next to no information on it other than being told its doing the rounds locally. Perth 8:00 - sweet holly 4/1. If i get anything extra about it then ill post it.
Front 3 in the market all have chevronsjust different colour !! any cheers for the info and best of luck Fabio l
Good luck to HARRISTOWN at Worcester tomorrow. Lets hope the upward curve continues even though STD deserts him.
Two for me tomorrow. Singles and a double. Home Of The Brave, 3.10 Goodwood. Artful Artist. 8.20 Galway. Good luck all!
Old Davey Russell is back out for Culloty this evening I see-Davey is a proud man so I'm suprised he's back riding for him after he slated his ride on Lord Windy in this years gold cup bearing in mind he fecking won it for him the previous year!!
The weather forecast suggests that on Wednesday, it might become Not So Glorious Goodwood like last year. The Hannon two year olds have not been the force of previous years and three go to post for the Vintage Stakes (2:35). Hakeem was last of five over six furlongs at Naas when favourite in May, whilst Repton was last seen winning over five furlongs in May. Best of the Hannon trio might be seven furlong maiden winner Larchmont Lad, which the betting seems to reflect. Another seven furlong maiden winner stepping up in class is Isomer, who easily justified odds of 1/5 at Salisbury and could be anything. Godolphin are doubly represented. It is hard to fancy Thunder Snow, who was well beaten behind Carravaggio at Royal Ascot, with Medieval in front in fourth. War Decree was just touched off in the Superlative Stakes and now finds himself three pounds better off with conqueror BOYNTON but the Appleby colt has course form and may find enough improvement to win again. In the Lennox Stakes (3:10), several are closely matched. Gifted Master was well beaten in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot and may find conditions here more to his liking. Markaz comes here after victory over six furlongs on Tapeta at Newcastle but has good enough turf form to be competitive. Dutch Connection was second at Ascot in the Summer Mile (and was just pipped in this last year), whilst the Godolphin first colours are on Birchwood (Fahey positive about it on SportingLife.com), winner over seven at Chester in a Listed race. Although not seen since winning a Group 3 at Haydock in May, I like the consistent HOME OF THE BRAVE for Hugo Palmer and he could make all here.
Boynton was keen early on in that race so you can probably upgrade that performance. Tbh the market for the race looks a bit of a joke, War Decree has been getting hammered since the market opened and nothing else has really drifted.
Something is pushing me towards a Shakopee / Isomer double in the first 2 at Goodwood; cannot explain it, no rhyme or reason, but I'm giving that a go (gulp). One other of interest over at Beverley - Oriental Splendour in the 3.20. Best of luck to all. ( [gazboy - still can't believe that distance you covered at the weekend, my knees hurt just thinking about it; I'll stick to my daily 3 miles, thanks very much )
