Not enforcing the follow on seems to be the modern way QM. I'm not saying it's the right way. Doesn't matter how many runs Hales gets he isn't a test match opening batter in a million years. Yes he'll get runs against average bowling attacks but decent bowlers like Amir will have him on toast all day long. Getting bowled through the gate on a belting wicket as he did in the first innings is a tail enders dismissal. Don't disagree about Rashid but he hasn't taken boat loads of wickets in County cricket to make him a certainty. Whatever happens here the coming winter in the sub continent may be a long and painful one without a tried, tested and trusted spin option.

Well done, Fabio. I am glad that you (and a few others here) have profited from it. I never had a penny on it because it looked like a Class 6 donkey in a Class 5 race. My mate that sent me it only had a small bet but he reckoned that the guy that is in the owners’ syndicate had the biggest bet he has ever done. I bet it still owes him money!
