Two years ago today Thomas Eisfeld and Adil Chihi were signed by Felix Magath.

The highly rated midfielder Eisfeld left Arsenal to join us on a two-year deal with the option of a further year. As a 21-year-old he moved to the Emirates from Borussia Dortmund in 2012 and was expected to progress into the first team but the German Under-20 international only made two appearances in the Capital One Cup for the Gunners - against Reading and West Brom. He made 7 appearances for Fulham

The Morocco international midfielder Chihi joined on a one-year deal, with the option of a further 12 months. The 26-year-old had been on trial with us and featuried in our pre-season friendlies impressing Magath enough to earn a contract. Chihi, primarily a wide player, had made more then 130 senior appearances for FC Cologne and scored 20 goals since his debut in 2005. He managed a cameo appearance in a one match.

So what went wrong? Was it a question of what the heck was Magath playing at in signing them in the first place? Or rather, what if they'd been given more game time by him (and Kit as well, obviously!)?

I was very excited about Eisfeld at the time. Shame it never worked out. Reminds me of Ronny Minkwitz.

Chihi didn't even look like a footballer.

Gosh yes FI - Minky was one of my young favourites back in the Dallas Cup, Elite League title days. Troublesome injury and then for some reason never fitted back into favour.

" Ah " those were the days my favourites for stardom amongst those
youngsters were Trotta great potential but at senior level both petulant and lazy
Jeronnen one for the future but I fear not at Fulham.
Hyndman quality shone through and I believed proved himself last season a great buy for Bournemouth
Roberts could be in the future an England stalwart.
