He isn't the direct option. Karius' starting position is outside his box. Mignolet releases the ball so slowly he literally gets booked. I think Mignolet is a good 2nd choice though.
Firmino? Hendo? Milner? Granted I don't much rate Hendo or Milner, but one is Cpt and the other played most games under Klopp last season
Mignolet is a perfect second. - Review of Wijnaldum as a possible CM: Wijnaldum's numbers for tackles (1.0 per game) and interceptions (0.7 per game) last season were unspectacular, but his economical and intelligent distribution is a valuable asset, and his pass success rate of 84.8 per cent was higher than any of Liverpool's central midfielders in 2015/16. The Dutchman has the engine to play in a box-to-box role alongside a more defensively-minded partner such as Can or Jordan Henderson in a 4-2-3-1, but Klopp may prefer to use him centrally in a 4-3-3, another formation he used frequently last season. The additional defensive support would give Wijnaldum a stronger platform from which to attack. The imminent departure of Joe Allen certainly suggests Klopp sees Wijnaldum as a central option, but his flexibility opens up a host of possibilities. His first season in the Premier League ended in bitter disappointment, but Wijnaldum arrives at Liverpool with Benitez's endorsement. He is well-equipped to make a more lasting impact for Klopp's side. http://www.skysports.com/football/n...erpool-and-georginio-wijnaldum-are-a-good-fit Top passes, super engine and an industrial player.
Don't worry dribs, these are just people hitting on their personal scapegoats. From my point of view Sakho is in more danger of losing his starting place sine you just bought a competent left sided CH, If Matip starts in holding mid I can see Gini partnering him which would put doubts on Can's starting place too. That said, Karius is a very good keeper and will eventually take the number one spot even if he may not start there.
your wum efforts are getting very unsubtle - better wait till nearer the season when everyone is getting a bit more wound up
He was also your most consistent player (although some thought he may be one of the first out the door) Klopp is no mug and will appreciate the value of a player like him to the team.
I always got accused of wumming for calling Coutino a 1 in 5 player, now more people seem to be seeing this and a few are even entertaining the thought that he may be allowed to leave.
oh do me a favour your first post was a blatant wum mind you doesn't mean it might not happen but you were just wumming
Thing I see as the difference between Karius and Mignolet and why he will be no 1? Confidence and balls...I'm very sure Mignolet can catch a ball off the ground..in the air..kick a ball...so can Karius. Difference? Karius looks like an arrogant fecker who even if he makes a mistake won't retreat to his goal line and let others do the work....
I want to see where he's going to play first. Certainly gives us options up top with Origi, Studge, Ings, Mane, Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana and now Ninja. Obviously, I've ignored the likes of Benteke, Balotelli and Markovic for a reason.
