At what point - if at all - do the FA or Premier League have the right to intervene in the goings on at Hull City even in an arbritary manner.. they have presumably reasoned that Allam is a 'fit and proper' person in regards of running a football club. At what point does he bring 'the Premier League into disrepute'...? Don't shoot the messenger, just asking the question...?
Good question. don't think there's any precedent so hard to say. I doubt they'd have any grounds to be honest, as long as they officially adhere to rules then what can they do?
I`m afraid that even with their growing reputations as being a pair of pillocks, able to fk up the most menial of tasks, I can`t see the PL having any say what so ever in their governance over the club.
When we haven't got enough senior players and a manager to start a PL game? At this rate, that might not be too far away?
The FA did have a meeting to discuss a disrepute charge against Assem, though to be honest, I can't remember what it was over. Realistically, they're not going to do anything, it's not their problem (though they'll be taking some action over the concession thing).
On the concession thing can they literally reduce it by a penny and comply with the rules? So for example £30 for adults, £29.99 concessions.
Well yeah, but I'm just wondering if the PL threaten them with withholding money or whatever, then could they do this? It would be astonishingly spiteful and we know that would be entirely out of character...
From memory.. The rules say that clubs must offer concessions. It doesn't stipulate what that means, so some available on the day or for away fans would meet that. The rules say that the cost for the concessions should reflect the local community, what ever that means.
The rules are far too vague, it's something that all the attendees at yesterdays meeting want to see addressed.
To be fair, they probably just put the rules there and didn't go into too much detail as they expected decent, sensible club owners to interpret them in a decent, sensible and proper fashion...
The fit and proper person test is very basic, and really exists to make sure a buyer has money and is legal. The only real test of competence is effectively that they haven't been caught. They have repeatedly said they won't interfere with the business side.
All of this 'Premier League rule breaking' talk brings me back to the discussion on here a couple of months back when I asked what would happen if the Allams decided they didn't want to follow the Thirty's Plenty rule? I was widely derided at the time with the general response being 'it's a Premier League rule, if we want to be in the Premier League we have to follow its rules...'.
The point I'm making was when discussing breaking the Thirty's Plenty rule everyone said it wouldnt happen cos it's a rule, and if we want to be in the Premier League then we have to follow the rules, and I was massively taken the piss out of by all but one (was it Dutch?) for even asking the question. We'll wait and see the punishment for this rule break.
It would be great if the PL said we were unable to play in it this season due to the rule breaking by the owners.......but it won't happen.
