Yesterday, HCST Chairman Geoff Bielby attended a very positive inaugural meeting with senior executives of the Premier League including Richard Scudamore, the league’s Chief Executive.

Fans of all 20 Premier League clubs were represented at the meeting and there were also delegates from the Football Supporters’ Federation (FSF) and Supporters Direct in attendance. Similar meetings are to be held twice a year in addition to separate working groups being established to deal with specific issues.

It was clear at the meeting that Hull City are out of step with other PL Clubs on meaningful fan engagement, which is now expected at all clubs following the recent findings of the government Expert Working Group. Much work still has to be done but HCST will continue to work with The Premier League, FSF and Supporters Direct to ensure Hull City Fans are properly represented.

As has been well publicised already, concessionary discounts for the young and old must be available as a Premier League rule. The Premier League confirmed however that Hull City do not accept they should have to comply with this rule. This remains an ongoing issue between the Premier League and the club. It appears likely that the club will attempt to press ahead without concessions while the matter is resolved, which may not be imminent.

The FSF have also provided an article about the meeting. This can be found by clicking...

Allams in a "the rules don't apply to us" shocker...

Surely there will be some form of sanction from the PL?

Why do the club think that? Surely they have given their reason, or have they just ignored it and said "nobody tells me how to run my business and you can die when you want" etc etc.

Probably because they are not intending to be in the Premier League for very long

I know it would hurt the club, but I actually wish they'd withhold money from them now.

By joining the PL HCAFC have agreed to abide by the rules of the organisation. If they fail to comply by these rules they should be expelled.

I hope the PL get on with expelling us ASAP.

Scrapping concessions makes no sense and is wrong from so many angles.

It's not difficult to see why the rules are vague, as I doubt they saw the need to have rules when, there's no business or moral case for scrapping them

Agreed completely, but this is the fourth or fifth separate time that we've found exactly that. Every organisation involved seems to have Allam-sized loopholes in their rules or contracts.

I think it's best to focus on this as a single issue rather than risk clouding it with others that are possibly not as clear cut.

If the club were in any doubt to how, the very clear, Rule 7 should be interpreted they had a chance to ask for clarity at the PL Owners meeting earlier in close season. They were also given the chance to ask for changes to rules, at the same meeting, if they were not happy with them.

This just stinks of more Allam arrogance. In accepting an owner's share of the PL the club have agreed to comply by it's rules. Until they do, the club needs to be suspended from the League & all monies payable to the club withheld. It's time for these ****ers to be crushed into submission.

They'll try to argue that as they brought the new scheme into play BEFORE we were promoted, it shouldn't apply to them.

Surely even the dumb ****s at the PL must now realise what a pair of noxious turds they are dealing with and rein them in ?

I'd like to see a 'bringing the game into disrepute' charge or 'serious misconduct' charge be levelled at the Allams.

That argument shouldn't wash. They are applying to join, a part of that is accepting the rules as they are.

They'll try arguing that as it was already up and running they can't be expected to retroactively change it all

Ah, I see what you're saying. That could account for it seemingly being rushed in with limited detail.

They'll probably then agree to offer some sort of concessions to away fans for this season, as that's the only way they can do it now for this season, in the hope that will appease the PL. Its all simply to get at us fans, nothing else.
