Time to open the debate, again. A sister, to a very good friend of mine, has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Incurable, they were told. Getting that news, my friend went around the doors and people that were growing cannabis donated some cannabis buds and all the leaf with crystal on that you get at the bottom of the plant. He went to work extracting the oil from it and in doing so, his kitchen was like a scene out of breaking bad. Out of this lb of weed, he was able to get roughly 3 months supply of cannabis oil. He started by giving her a little bit and gradually upping the dose, he chose a cannabis strain with a high THC level as this is what attacks the cancer cells. Yesterday she went for her scan, and she has got the all clear. There's nothing there, not a single cell. The doctors are stunned. My mother is at the same stage and I have literally begged her to try it, but she wont As a side note, if his door had have been kicked in by the Police. He would be looking at criminal charges and his sister would more than likely be dead. Where's the common sense in all of this?
Dont understand enough about it. There might be something there, but surely if someone can maybe create a cure in his kitchen, then is begs the question of 'are the pharma companies keeping it undercover and if so why'?
It's probably one of the single most important plants growing on this planet medicinally, yet it's banned in most places because it has properties that get somebody stoned if they ingest it/smoke it. It's a massive myth that it's being suppressed by Pharmaceutical companies by the way, they're ploughing ridiculous money into the research.
You can get the instructions online, mate. There's videos on youtube that show you how to do it. People can grow their own medicine, for free. There's one big enough reason as to why certain companies won't want this coming out.
I was hoping you would say something, mate. I know you have an understanding of it and maybe some sort of work covering that field? You'll have a better understanding than me, I just know it works and attacks cancer cells. I couldn't go into details about the properties in it, etc...
Yep, but, there's many cases of the drug being completely ineffective for treating cancer, there's probably millions of different strains when you consider it being diluted and mixed with complimenting medicines. The research right now is to identify each strain for targeting specific needs, such as back pain, arthritis, PTSD and like you say, certain cancers. Yours certainly isn't the first case of this happening mate, there's something in that species of plant that can save lives, that's a fact.
By the way, most strains are being developed, organically with the part that gets the person high modified or removed, so it'd be completely safe to use at all times, driving, flying, it could even be used by athletes in many cases... less side effects than a paracetamol.
It attacks cancer cells as you say, '83, which suggests to me that it attacks other cells/things, too, and it might just be a matter of time before something else 'presents' Having said that, under the circumstances, it's produced a bit of magic, so cross other bridges if and when they appear It's good to hear a story like this, even though I already knew about it, and I hope that your mam can be persuaded
I'm 100% against illegal drugs But it's not me that needs them So realy I can't give an opinion Only that if it's saving lives get on with it
I thought that was the case - there's a lad I work with who is 33/34 year old and suffers with arthritis. Affects almost every part of his body. Was in a wheelchair in his teens until late teens when he discovered weed - he now walks with the aid of a walking stick but he would still be in a wheelchair (he thinks) without the aid of cannabis. If you can remove the "getting high" bit and keep all of the medicinal properties, this drug would be a godsend for a lot of people
Thing is Gordon - the same could be said about any drug that attacks anything to remove the effects - every drug carries a leaflet with a long list of side effects. Christ I got some Viagra to try out (I'm diabetic so thought I'd give it a whirl as I get it for free!) and one of the side effects listed on there was the inability to get an erection? I watched my grandfather die of cancer. He was 18 stone fit bloke who walked everywhere. 6' 2" when he was first diagnosed. He died shorter than me weighing less than 6 stone (I'm 5' 6") and he was treated to prolong his life with something the hospital gave him - he lasted 8 months when they thought he'd last a year to 18 monthes with these drugs! Still think the drugs did him no help at all!! Love seeing things like this @Safc83 where it works for people.
Should be legalised, I used to smoke it, never a lot, but last time I had it was 20+ years ago, so its not like im championing for it so I don't get arrested. It's a plant, it's natural. How many people die from tobacco, alcohol every year, and they are legal, whether through illness, or as secondary causes for alcohol, accidents/violence etc. It can cure diseases, it can probably instigate some as well, but see my above point. I believe in Colorado the taxes from it have helped build new schools and hospitals. Yes it gets you stoned, but tobacco is an upper, and alcohol gets you drunk so what's the difference. Pretty sure there will be lots of people that don't want it legalised, I just can't work out why it's illegal in the first place.
It's not being kept under wraps fella. It's our government won't be told. Half the US states are prescribing it for exactly what 83 was talking about as well as many other reasons.
Chemo and radiology attacks all cells fella, that's why they make people so ill. Still used to fight Cancer. Weed will never feel like a course of those things.
Like when I looked at the side effects of my medication for depression one of them was suicide! Well that cheered me up no end!
I got prescribed some meds for treating mania, but I only wanted them for sea-sickness... one of the symptoms was 'death'... who chooses death over sea sickness?
