Thought it was a good performance form him defensivley as well as getting the 2 goals.

If he can stay fit he is by far our best defender and really classy on the ball.

Need to be carefull with this guy and make sure he lasts the season without too many problems.

Agreed. He has injury problems in the past but if we can keep him fit this season, he is an excellent defender.

Let's hope we can keep him fit.

I think him coming back is brilliant for us, although I feel it's inevitable before he gets another injury. Hopefully he'll last until Christmas this season.

    I agree about Agger.

With Aquilani less so, he will be a good option if he stays but he wasnt out of this world yesterday. That volley was class but so was Shelveys effort toward the end (Adams was poor). Aqua's other shot should of been comfortably saved and the corners were put were corners are supposed to be put. I dont think we should get carried away.

I dont think Aqua will be there come Sept anyway but if he is it will be interesting how he fares, whether he will be commited and also that some people claim he's not up for the English game.

Woah, I want in here...nice thread lads. Right, see how we go.

When it rains, invariably you'll get wet. Nah, I can do better than that...

When it rains, if you go outside without adequate protection (raincoat, umbrella, hoody, even)...invariably you will get wet. Howzat?

Are you trying to say that if Agger goes into a match without body armour he'll get injured?

I agree about Agger, we need to keep him fit as I would get seriously worried thats provided we don't sign a new centre half if we are dependent on Kyriagkos. He's a liability and thats being kind.
Aquilani less so, I would sacrifice him if it meant that we were able to sign a reliable centre half and that it would mean we are not dependent on Kyriagkos.
It would mean we could put off signing a left back and a striker until either January or next summer. I just feel the need for another centre half is more important at the moment.

It's a discussion board! Fans do talk about their own players and not every thread will be as original or as interesting as you may want it to be.

Agree 100%. Have thought that Agger has been our best defender for a while, makes us look so much more comfortable on & off the ball at the back when he is playing. The problem is the rest of the defence.. GlenJ is pretty erratic (although he did improve a lot last season defensively) and LB and a CB are an issue, which I think every LFC fan know's on here anyway. Who would you guys want after Carra calls it a day? Someone from the youth (Ayala/Wisdom/Kelly)? Or an established player?

IMO if Suarez and Agger stay fit MOST the season, we get top 4

I'm just waiting for him to get injured, and when/if he does, we should sell him. Not worth a place in the squad if he can only play a few games a season

and Lucas. I think he's overlooked when it comes to injuries etc.. because he's barely had any, but if he picks up an injury then we'll be in for a tough time until he recovers.

Lucas is a good player too ,and been constantly improving through the last 3 years.

What I notice about Agger is ,when he plays we seem to play the ball out from the back a lot, lot more. And the ball stays on the floor a lot more, where it should be.

Where as when Carra and Skrtel are at CB we hoof the ball down the channel more, and have a lot less possesion

I think Skrtel is getting better at playing the ball on the ground though, I've noticed he tends to hoof it a little less and instead passes it to Lucas.

Every time Agger plays a game I always get that hope of "maybe this time". But it always end in disappointment. Such a shame, looking at the likes of Woodgate and King it doesn't fill me with much hope as they too seem to spend most of their career trying to recover.
