But not by Murdoch, Dacre or the Barclay Bros - even though they spent three years repeating the mantra "unelected Prime Minister" for Gordon Brown.

The Fail are hailing Erdogan and his supporters after the failed military coup in Turkey.
They always have loved a dictator, haven't they?

It's ****, but I think that virtually all of the papers are, to be honest.
Journalism has steadily gone to pot in this country and the real work seems to be done by those not working for papers.
Private Eye and Channel 4 shouldn't be responsible for this stuff, frankly.

The freedom of the press has a hollow ring to it when we have such dominance of vested interests. It's a much needed freedom that is roundly abused by the likes of Murdoch and Rothermere. The net at least is providing the chance to find other sources for your news.

I'd like to see schools teaching children WHY they need to search the net.

Not really. Even the TV stuff is poor.
For example, Panorama, and Dispatches (C4) are now only 30 mins long.
How can you cover the big political issues in a 22-28 min TV programme ??

Just a thought for the likes of Murdoch, Dacre, the Barclay Bros and the BBC: if Jeremy Corbyn is "unelectable", doesn't that mean somebody as clearly certifiable as Angela Eagle is unelectable?
Consider the facts about all of the recent coverage of Eagle:
    * She claims that the pro-Corbyn supporters subjected her to homophobic and anti-semitic abuse at a constituency meeting - yet she was not even at the meeting
    * She claims that she had to cancel a rally at a hotel in Luton at the last minute due to threats - yet the manager of the hotel said that the hotel cancelled the event as they do not host political events, and were unaware of the nature of the event when Eagle booked it
    * She claims that a brick was thrown through the window of her constituency office - which is simply untrue, given the window broken is on the ground floor of a building that hosts several offices by a staircase, yet her constituency office is on the other side of the building and is clearly marked by the Labour sticker in the window

Of course, nobody should let the facts get in the way of the anti-Corbyn narrative...

    Completely agree.
The other hypocrisy is that these "we have Labour's best interest at heart" MPs have been happily bitching and conspiring against their democratically elected leader from day one of his election which has hardly made Labour look good.

I can see little difference between Eagle and the Tories, she is definitely in the wrong party. A quite nasty piece of work as this situation highlights for all to see,

There's not a lot of difference between the left of the Tories and the right of Labour, for me.
The LibDems don't seem to be that far off both of them, either.
It's a problem for a lot of voters, who don't feel represented and vote for UKIP or other supposedly alternative parties.

She and an large number of Labour MPs have no principle other than to be in Government. What is the point in a Labour Government if they are simply going to behave like the Tories?
If I was to stand as an MP for a party I would want the party to be arguing for higher taxes on the rich and better funded public services. If my party didn't win then so be it but what would the point of me changing to copy the Tories? It would make no difference to how things are. I know this'll be seen as idealistic or naïve but politics has become various shades of blue.

IMHO the legacy of Labour being such a basket case in the early 1980s.
TBH until the electorate grows up en-masse and accepts the true financial/political
realities, expect more of the same.

Except he wouldn't have been elected if it wasn't for patronising MPs nominating him cause they didn't think he could win. The constitution holds that the leader must have a majority of party members AND adequate support in Parliament. It doesn't work if you can't hold the PLP together and he cannot. I'm all inf avour of a left leader, but I don't believe Corbyn has the right skills.

I am not saying he is the right leader just that those (or the majority of those) conspiring against him are two faced self serving ****wits who have more interested in themselves than in helping working people...like I said I am very naive and old fashioned
