The unwritten rule smokey, put it up or keep it shut! The amazing world of the internet and photoshop LOL
Anyone who knows there golf knows if you back the first top 8 or so in the betting antipost in doubles or treble accumulators you are on to a winner. Outsiders rarely win and there are very few sports where the favourites go off around 9-1 at the start. Willet was an exception and lost me a bit but Speith and Day last year and Johnson and Stenson so far this year have made me huge profits. Easiest sport to make money I find. Two weeks only until the PGA so not long to make more money.
Will do. Banked £500 winnings and going to play with the other hundred over the next two weeks in £2 and £3 doubles and trebles until I have £500 plus winnings on all the top players for the PGA.
I had that same double plus "Erdogan to brutally crush the putsch" at 8s so am having it large this evening LOL
What a wonderful weekend of golf and sport in general to take your mind off so many awful things going on globally. I am sure the current scenarios pale into insignificance compared to two world wars but this feels like the lowest point for humanity in my lifetime.
Not in golf no. From memory pre tournament it went Johnson 9s, day 9s, Rory 10s, Speith 12s, Bubba 16s, Grace 20s, Scott 20s, Garcia 25, Fowler 25s Stenson 33s, Lowry 40s, Mickelson 40s. Something like that.
Can't say I ever recall a final pairing play like that in a major, simply romping further and further clear with golf from another planet. All credit Stenson, though I would have loved to see big Phil win it and further cement his legacy. Now if only Rory had some luck with the draw (not to mention make putts from 3-4ft....)
That was absolutely awesome..imagine shooting 65 in the last round of an Open and losing by 2 shots more than you were behind on the first tee. Best golf I have witnessed for some time...Phil really is box office, one almost hopes he misses fairways and greens. Beefy, the draw didn't cost Rory the 16 shots he was behind!..not good enough. Interesting that Nick Pitt in the Sunday Times called him unlucky because he continually missed putts. A missed short putt is every bit a bad shot as a snap hook into the cabbage.
Nice to talk sport on here for a change never mind racing...I don't post much any more..used to be 606horseracing on here and even this thread would have be castigated for being a diversion.
One of the most impressive major performances in the history of the game. Stenson is such a good ball striker, the sound when he compresses the ball is awesome. Long overdue perhaps but he got it done now. Phil played unbelievable and was unfortunate to bump into Henrik this week. Such is golf. He's got his 5 majors tucked away anyway and a few more inside trades will see the finances upwards of the winners cheque Onto the PGA next... 33/1 Favourite already Stenson is Anyone care to join me at the Heritage golf club in Killenard at 1pm to complete a 4 ball ???
Thought it was quite obvious I was being tongue in cheek old boy! Definitely wasn't his best week, but still did finish best of those on his 'side' of the draw i believe. Wasn't getting near the top 2 regardless, as I said those two played as if from another galaxy! Will be interesting to see if Stenson can break into the elite group of Day, Rory, DJ and Spieth now.
Rory needs to get mentally stronger IMHO. In both 2nd and 3rd rounds he quickly followed one missed short putt with 2 more. 6 shots squandered in no time at all. Still wouldn't have been good enough as it turns out but you've got no chance if you can't drain the 3 footers with your eyes closed.
Can someone start a USPGA thread please as it's only 2 weeks away (brought forward because of the Olympic golf but now wasn't worth doing as many of the top players have pulled out!). Seriously though it means the chances are the winner of the USPGA has good chance of being someone with no distraction of the Olympics.....
