Not looking good for the captured coup soldiers. Erodgan wants to bring back beheading. People that don't support Erodgan public and forces are being urged to flee the country.
Heads of state don't usually side with anyone until there is a clear winner. They then side with them, it saves problems later.
The Turkish government is considering bringing back the death penalty so it can execute those involved in the attempted military coup against President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Mehmet Müezzinoğlu, the ruling Justice and Development Party's Deputy Leader, said the government will introduce a bill calling for the execution of rebel soldiers. What we know so far about the attempted military coup in Turkey “We will put forward a motion, which will demand the execution of those who have been involved in the coup attempt," Mr Müezzinoğlu wrote on Twitter. Following his comments, #Idamistiyorum ("I want death penalty") has become the top trend on Twitter in Turkey. The hashtag has been used more than 23,000 times. Turkey is ****ed. If you have a holiday booked there cancel it.
Turkey joining ISIS who already are taking the world super powers on? That will massively increase the problem.
Kurds are ****ed. They need to leave their area in Syria and seek refuge somewhere. Erdogan is going to wipe them out.
Some areas are just in lockdown, security everywhere, she's just been told stay in the hotel compound, no clue on how long she's going to be there, it sounds all abit ****ed to be honest.
So have I. When she told me she was off to Turkey, I rolled my eyes. I wouldn't go to any Islamic country at the moment....correct that, ever again.
Someone on my facebook is in Marmaris and said everything is normal now. I guess they will not realise how lucky they are to be on hols and back home in a short while until they are back and realise what is really going on there. I went to Marmaris a couple of decades ago but Turkey has changed a lot since then. The world and that whole region has changed and I haven't considered Turkey as a destination for a few years now even though I know it was lovely back then and still probably is lovely. It is just too close to the troubles in that region for me to ever really feel safe. I would be constantly fear for me and my family's safety (irrational or not) if I went there...meaning before the occurrences of this weekend. Her actual comment was: "We are in Turkey atm. All is fine xx"
That's where my mate is,she landed last night and said the airport was chaos then, I've not spoke to her today, glad to hear it's all calm there now, suppose it is well away from Istanbul and Ankara .
