I’m far from being an Allam apologist – in fact, my feeling towards them measures somewhere between dislike and despise. However, I don’t have a clue what the buyers have offered and if it’s anywhere near fair. The September switch is extremely frustrating but I can see the sense. For football, it means that everyone can switch attention to the pitch (in theory, although as we all know other issues are at play that negate this). In terms of negotiation, it doesn’t close the door but perhaps will stimulate the buyers to make an acceptable offer. I’m not bothered about being fair to the Allam family, however, I prefer to rationalise - whatever the situation is.
I'm completely speechless. Disgusted. This is OUR club. And it their toy. Something needs to be done. They are selfish ****s who have been taking the decision to block the name change out on every single one of us. I expect them to spend nowt in this window pocket the PL money. Try and actually sell in September and by the point we can actually buy anyone we're as good as down! I feel like we can already start to write off this season. They need to get the **** out of our club! We are going to be an embarrassment on a global scale. What can we really do as irrelevant, ignored fans to do anything about this?!
It looks like we're in for players now though? Strong links with Mason, Marshall, Sane and Robson-Kanu (albeit on a free) but we're still talking a bit of outlay there. If they are looking to pocket some PL money first I'm surprised they think they can be that blatant about it and can't imagine the buyers are impressed either. Strange stuff all round.
If the rumoured 18m budget is true. That's our budget. Or the fees that have been suggested for them would come to over £18m.
Seriously. People need to calm down. The level of vitriol isn't warranted. Be angry but to make assumptions and make stuff up isn't clever. They don't have to sell and don't have to take an offer that may be what they think isn't fair. As for players... If they don't pay out who would want the club if it's set up to fail? Some dangerous speculation on here balanced with some more sensible pragmatism.
This is getting very ****ing tedious!! Think I'll go watch Boro instead...they seem to know what they're doing!
It's the agents who plant those 'stories' in the media to put their players in the shop window, Robson-Kayak being classic example.
The decision seems really bizarre to me. Hopefully details come out in the wash. If the Allams want a better deal, just reject the current offer... I'm not business minded but I just can't see why delaying until September just to pick up where negotiations left off would have any benefit in the football world. The transfer deadline would have passed by then and it almost seems like they've named a month at random to me. Unless of course the money pocketing theories end up holding any weight. Can't see that though to be honest. The Allams have been 'selling' for a while now and they've still sanctioned player purchases since their mindset changed. I find this very odd.
Well thats it for me guys, our two season passes & the two passes of the guys that come with won't be renewed now. We said if it went beyond the start of the season we would not bother. There's many years of supporting Hull City AFC gone right there. Bye.
Just a guess. So i assume then someone working for the Yanks is supplying you, olm and others with info. Is he or she from Hull?
I've got the same feeling right now to how I felt when KO came at Wembley and there were thousands of empty seats: how did it all get to this.
Agreed if they dont invest in good players now, any offer in September is going to be much less, presuming that if we dont sign some more players we will get less points in that time and club value will reduce?
All this is doing is hurting many fans, supporters who have bought passes because they love Hull city, ones who want to come back but wont until the Allams sell, and a manager who doesn't know were he stands, has one of the lowest if not the lowest budget in the premier league. What a build up to a new season in the premier league, lets hope some how there is a sudden successful happy ending to all this because there are so many people/ proper fans who have an interest, want the club to do well, or really love Hull City that need a massive boost and happy outcome which will at least give us a chance in the hardest yet best league in the world. For now I will continue to look everyday at the news like many others and I will go into the new season with hope even though like SB must be thinking the odds are stacked against us. Hopefully the new potential owners will continue to pursue and the Allams will sell, lets hope if it happens we get great new owners who have spent all this time that they really want the club because they would be proud to own a English premier football club but most of all they understand that fans need to be wanted and appreciated by the club because this city has so many unattending fans who want to come back and fans who have passes for the new season that have bought them not because of who is in charge but because they love Hull city and they get behind the eleven men running around that pitch with a black and amber shirt on. We live in hope that there will be an happy outcome but I fear it may take some time yet, what ever remember this is our club we stick by it wether we attend or not Hull City is a part of our lives until the day we die. UTT
I'm not sure about this, these negotiations have been on going months so surley the yanks have an idea what pappa expects. Four days after pappa sets a deadline it's all off.... I'm not having it
