    Not suprised at this,

Firstly Zenden now Steed, two of our finest, but we move on, maybe there is a bigger plan to all this.

And yet we still have Ferdinand, why can't we greatly improve the squad & get rid of him

****in brilliant, sell one of most creative players, so we have sold Henderson who topped our assists with Gyan last season and now we selling Malbranque who is probably our 2nd most creative player behind Sessegnon, he is tidy & keeps the ball well. I know he is old but last season he made a difference when he played, i cant see us signing a replacement for him because of all the midfielders we have now but this has pissed me right off if it's true.

Steed had a couple of assists last season but nothing to miss greatly if he was moved on. I am glad for his service to the club and no doubt he has put 100% in the last 4 years with the club but I feel it is his time to move on now, which is sad because of his relationship with the fans but good luck Steed, all the best.

Steed would arguably not be in our starting line up for Liverpool so his replacement probably wont come, although I would like to see the mythilogical left winger arrive after a bit cash is brought in from the sale and wages.

Keep ball well true but what about final ball for a chance or a goal. Flattered to deceive for me think Colback and Zenden far more incisive than Steed.

class player for us, couldn't score for us for toffee, fought for his place when he got disciplined, would have been fantastic if he'd had another yard, was only part of game player but 100% when he was on Sad to see him go but maybe it is time

Top lad and player. Personally I think he could have stayed and been part of the squad but if his departure means we can move for Johnson (if true) then you cant argue witht that.
He will always remain a crowd favourite IMO and good luck to him.

Just a thought on the Johnson threads. Its Euro Championship season and if AJ is to be in that squad he needs first team football on a regular basis. 15 games a season wont get him there and Young and Downing will now get regular football as wide men.

Time for Adam to think very long and hard about this season because if Downing gets in and makes a name for himself, he will take some moving for the World Cup campaign.

very true but then on the otherhand from Johnson's point of view he is in a team that has the likes of Tevez, Aguero, Yaya, David Silva, Balotelli and Kompany and they will be aiming for the title this year aswell as champions league football.

I hope it comes off he is class but cannot see it happening.

    Gutted!!!

I reckon Steed could have still been a valuable asset to the club. Bring him on for the last 30 or 40 mins in place of someone like Larsson if he is doing nothing. He gave us good options as he can cover right across the midfield.

If this move frees up 40k a week in wages and means we can get someone else in, then we would be mugs not to sell at this stage.

He's been a wonderful player to watch, and will be fondly remembered on my part, Keane's finest signing by far, despite the aforementioned lack of end product.

    One more time.... STEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!!

All the best you crazy Belqique/Francais hybrid!

Hi, whats happening guys? Now I have heard steed is off which isn't a suprise really when you look at the amount of players we hve brought in etc etc.. However I still rate the lad and thought that with 15/20 minutes to go he would be a big asset to us...

Anyway thats not what this is about, I don't get when people say that he must be off cause he is one off the top earners at the club... Hold on, what will happen if we replace him, surely the person we replace him with (if we do) will get the same amount off wages if not more...

For example if rumours are to be believed and we do go for Johnson I can see the lad being on atleast 50 grand a week at least cause he will easily be getting that if not more at City and there will be other clubs willing to pay top dollar (£) to get him...

So to be fair I don't think money is the issue here, its more off a starting spot etc...

Anyway, Steed thannks for your service and all the best...

    STTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!
