Just walked in through the door, logged on and FOR ****S SAKE SID!!!!

    Break it to me gently!!!!

Actually, pause for breath, that's quite a smart move.

Keep your friends close. Keep your enemies closer!

Better for him to be inside the tent pissing out, than outside the tent pissing in!

And yes, I've used that quote before, but seems particularly pertinent here!

Boris Johnson as Foreign Secretary did make me laugh out loud, when I first heard it. It's like appointing Adam Johnson as Education Secretary, you just wouldn't go there.

Just finished watching a series of news channels and not one "expert" could provide a logical explanation about Boris other than he is a "character".

I think because the other parties ARE in disarray she will call a general election pronto.
Is she (wo)man enough to gamble with her moment in the 'top job' for a longer stint??

Probably. Depends if she can make the right noises in from now until it's called. She says she'll be fairer to all classes. We'll see.

Liam Fox is the biggest clown she has promoted..
When he was Defence Secretary he came out to the Middle East to give us an 'update' on the 'way ahead' for the Armed Forces. We absolutely destroyed him and his pathetic plans to the extent that his 'brief' was suddenly cut short as he started to feel unwell. :emoticon-0132-envy:

She has already said she won't be calling another general election because the Conservatives got voted in by a majority and she intends to see it through until 2020.

Because the politicians don't have experience of reality, for the armed forces. Just figures on bits of papers.

They haven't got a clue what's going on in any walk of life (outside London)!!
My missus works at Darlington Memorial Hospital and is putting in ridiculous hours to cover people who have left. She is currently training up a girl to cover for when 'we' go on holiday next week and today she has received an email saying further redundancies are happening in September !?!? They can't cope now and they want to cutback further ?!? It's a complete joke.

the man who called black people “flag-waving piccaninnies” with "watermelon smiles", picked on Barack Obama's "part-Kenyan" heritage and floored a schoolboy in Japan is now charge of Britain’s diplomatic relations.

She had to pick someone for the job, apparently he did very well for business while he was mayor.
I am just going to sit tight and watch what happens.
Boris is not a stupid man. He speaks several languages and i believe he will do ok, just jumping into my bunker before the shots come over.

I reckon this is quite a shrewd move by the Lady.

There is a large section in the Tory Party of anti-Europe MP's.
Cameron agreed to the referendum to draw their fire and neutralise them.
But the vote went wrong for him.
So now the Brexit supporters are even more of a nuisance.
Boris is seen by this bloc as their Champion.

So make him Foreign Secretary, a job that will involve him in the negotiations and give him his head.
If it works, well and good.
If he puts his big clumsy foot in his exuberant gob, AGAIN, then it will be very public lash up.
BUT it will be his lash up and the PM will be justified is sacking him.
Meanwhile this happy bunch are all happily onside.

Agree with this. He gave a very decent interview outside the Foreign Office today. The big question in UK is 'which Boris are we getting - the one who talks about closer ties with Europe or the one who campaigns to leave it?' And he's made it quite clear today that there is Europe (a continent) and there is the EU (which, to my mind, is just a relocated Soviet Union). He spoke well, I think.
