Nelson Mandela. Found him fascinating with his self preservation and dignity despite years spent on Robben Island. I have been to Cape Town and seen Robben Island - quite an experience.
Have you read Niven's books? A very entertaining read. He thought Flynn was great company but didn't seem to think a lot of him as a person.
The Moons a Balloon and Bring on the empty horses, yep a fair few years ago now. Read Flynns My Wicked Wicked Ways too.
Yea. I had a short email convo with him maybe 7 years ago but I would love to sit down and have a proper conversation.
Great books. Had an entertaining life, didn't he? Came back at the height of his career to do his bit in the war when he could have stayed in Hollywood. Flynn chose to stay which didn't impress Niven. Clark Gable did his bit, he remarked that when they make films about this anyone who says they weren't scared ****less is a liar. (My mother was highly jealous of a friend of hers who met Gable, her heart throb, when he was stationed here). James Stewart had a distinguished career, worth reading about on this link, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Stewart Stewart was reluctant to make war films and Gable was the same. Flynndid various showing him as an all conquering hero, which rather miffed Niven off who had himself been involved in some hazardous operations. Must dig those 2 books of Niven's out and have a re-read.
Mark E Smith - though I could never keep up with him, especially not once he started on the double whiskies.
Are we talking about going for a beer with or people we'd like to ask deep and meaningful questions? The two are totally separate. If it's the former then Mad Bob, Les, Garmo, Nobler, Evo, Richi, Rousey, Ratboy, Big Duncs, Dixie, Parko, Daniel, Little Nel, Jacko, Mull, Big Nel, Taxi Jim, Joth... to name a few. If it's the latter? Adolf Hitler.
I'd happily have a beer with most of you on here. I'd also bet my saggy bollocks a fair few of you would contribute to a better night on the beer than most of the celebrity ****s already mentioned.
