Good luck with Buzz. After what he's been through I hope, more than anything else, that he enjoys himself. A win would be a very nice bonus. There is probably someone in the yard who knows him and loves him more than anyone else and who is loved and trusted more than anyone else by him. What is he telling them?
Interesting pedigree in the 2yo 7f maiden at Sandown. Fields of Fortune is by Champs Elysees out of an unraced half-sister to Zafonic etc.. Mind you the mare is an 18yo now and hasn't produced much in terms of winners so far. Poetic Voice who is a Poet's Voice great granddaughter of a sister to Mtoto may have more about her in this one. In the fist at Yarmouth Ronald R traces back to Allez France, while Jumira Bridge is a grandson of Russian Rhthym. But if I was there and if he looked alright I'd probably back the unraced Ultimate Avenue as he is a member of my favourite Cliveden family.
I meant about his well being SH but I suppose if he told them that it's as good as saying "I feel good"
Great run from Buzz stick, just got tired in the last furlong, had he a better draw and being able to drop in a little behind a couple due to it he may have seen it out for a place. The unexposed winner needs marking up a little in my view due to also having a bad draw and coming from behind to finish the race full of running. What is for sure however is that there appears no ill effects from his setback as he gave a good account of himself today despite not making the frame.
Had the same problem with them last week - tried to back Wolves to win the Championship for £100 @ 20s - would only allow £10 FFS. Had the £100 with Hills in the end but could only get 16s. Still available @ 16s but expect that to change in the very near future as they are about to be bought out by a very rich kitchen sink - will be announced in the next few days along with a host of top signings for that division!!
Buzz really perked up when he saw the racecourse today. In fact as he is still a Colt you would have to say that he was actually way too perky. He has a little surprise coming very soon and next time we really should see something a whole lot better.
You have to be happy with buzz's run there stick and although he never got any place money he has come back safe and sound
Scanned through the Sandown race too quickly and missed Balgair. By Foxwedge he hails from the family of Set Fair who was owned by Hughie Morrison's family at the Fonthill Stud. She just happened to be the dam of 3 Classic winners in Juliette Marney (Oaks), Julio Mariner (St Leger) and Scintillate (Oaks). Her daughter Thundercloud and grand-daughter Raindrop were bred to faster, less classic sires, like Primo Dominie and Compton Place. So Balgair should be a bit nippier than his antecedants. Looked a useful debut. Got the 3 at Yarmouth right but not in the right order.
