Don't recognise your name from 606 and i have never changed mine. Its just a bit of news i am giving you, so its your choice to believe or not. I personally think its good news as long as we can keep Seaborne.
Lets add to the speculative discussion (bad day at work!): The scenario could be: Saints view Martin as needing more long term experience - so off on loan to Bomo - who lost a CD to the skates. Big J cannot play every week and seriously lacks pace; so will only play now and again. You need 4 CD's - we are left we Fonte & Seabourne. Jammal looks good for this level (not saying Premiership - don't know enough about him). Bring in Gorkiss and you have your 4 CD's. Alot wrong with this speculation - of course - the biggest being Gorkiss - why would he want to miss out on the chance of Premiership football. Apparently their best CD and QPR have no money to spend - so its not like that they will sign players for established lower Premier League teams (Blackburn, Bolton, Wolves etc) because they will want to hold onto what they got. They may want Puncheon - but think it would be a cash deal, maybe with installment payments and on appearances.
According to this; Brest are in for him aswell... http://www.footransferts.com/index.php/2011/07/brest-songe-a-jemal/
We definately dont need both! I would rather have Gorkiss as he has the exsperience at this level where as Jammal would be a risk Also I think whoever comes in, Martin could do with going out on loan, but not to Bournemouth! We have done them far too many favours over the years, and for what? The stick we got from their fans last season was a joke! That would leave: Fonte, Jaidi, Seabiscuit, Jammal/Gorkis - which is plenty
Don't think we will sign both however, signing them both would not be a bad thing since, IMO, Seaborne and Jaidi are not good enough to play regularly in the championship. Having two quality CBs in the line up and another quality CB in reserve in case of injury or suspension would improve the squad greatly. This would also allow Martin the chance to go out on loan and get some experience and a good run of competitive games.
I think the wheels were in motion for the Jemal transfer before QPR came along with their part exchange bid for Puncheon. If we can get both, I think we should. then we can loan Martin out with no concerns whatsoever about the CB's left at the club. Jaidi will probably only start about 10 games max this year imo and could come on if we are winning 1-0 or so and the other team starts playing long ball in the final minutes. Seabourne is decent but not much better and assuming we only sign 1 CB he would be 3rd choice. If the rumours for the deal with Puncheon are true (ie its cash plus Gorkss for Puncheon). Then I think we would be mad not to take it, as I would of just taken the 500k being offered. But if they do come off I would be happy with the CB options of Fonte/Gorkss/Jemal/Seabourne/Jaidi.
Well done joesteinberg! If he does sign it would be a slight insult if we were calling him 'Gorkiss' haha. Personally I'm undecided. Two new centre half's? Would that not upset the great team spirit we have and go against Adkins important idea of team spirit? Fonte is clearly first choice so if we bought in two signings they wouldnt want to play second fiddle to each other.. unless gorkss or jemal play as a full back as well? Although, it is a win-win. Gorkss = good defender and puncheon gone, Jemal = good defender and puncheon will still go, I read on sky sports that Warnock see's puncheon as a well motivated player? I think they need to change their scouting department! More money than sense, I hope QPR go down.
