Looks like Cardiffs manager Pauls' a Trollope may grant this release. http://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/839265156?-294:802:0 The last few days have seen reports suggesting that former Norwich forward Anthony Pilkington could be on his way to Loftus Road this transfer window. The Cardiff man is rumoured to want out of the club and won’t be short of potential suitors. Pilkington joined the Welsh outfit for a fee of £1million in August of 2014 after he was deemed surplus to requirements, despite an impressive stint with the Canaries, especially during the 2011/12 campaign where he grabbed eight Premier League goals to help guide Norwich to safety. No doubt Pilkington could be a strong acquisition for the Rs, who will be looking to improve on their 12th place finish last campaign and push for a play-off place. This will no doubt be made harder following the departure of winger Matty Phillips, who joined West Brom for a fee rumoured to be in the region of £5.5million last week. The future of Junior Hoilett is also in doubt, as the winger has left the club following the expiry of his contract at the start of the month, despite receiving a final offer from the club which he may still take them up on. However, such departures may also make way for more in-comings, and the club will no doubt be looking to add to the acquisitions of Joel Lynch, Jake Bidwell and Ariel Borysiuk. Having already strengthened significantly at the back, they will now be looking to the forward area, where the club could be said to be lacking a winger or two. Despite this, there are several players entering their second season with the West London side who will be looking to have a breakthrough season. Players such as Ben Gladwin, Nasser El Khayati and Massimo Luongo will be looking to leave their mark on the side this coming season, despite the latter having played 30 times for the club since his arrival from Swindon Town last summer. The club will be looking to bed in several players from the club’s own youth system next season as well. The likes of Cole Kpekwa, Michael Doughty, Reece Grego-Cox and Olamide Shodipo may be looking to make strides towards the first team squad, as they have all featured in pre-season so far. Shodipo was particularly impressive, and whose tireless running and direct style caused a strong PSV side problems all game when the two sides met of Friday afternoon in a friendly as part of the Hoops’ pre-season tour of the Netherlands. This news may come as an underwhelming surprise to many Bluebirds fans, however, as this follows a pattern of strange events at the club, following the resignation of Russell Slade after being moved upstairs to become the club’s Head of Football, before he resigned and took the vacant managerial job at Charlton Athletic. The new boss at Cardiff, Paul Trollope, is reportedly keen to shift some of the clubs high earners as they look to make another push for the play-offs after last season’s 8th place finish. This will no doubt be made harder by the departure of one of the club’s key men in Pilkington, moving to a divisional rival no less.
Report: Queens Park Rangers said keen on Motherwell winger Marvin Johnson http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/07/1...angers-said-keen-on-motherwell-winger-marvin/
Jordan Cousins has been left out of tonight's friendly squad, and it's not down to injury.Apparently QPR are close to meeting Charlton's valuation for the in demand winger ! Looks like he's on his way to me.
Jordan Cousins is on the QPR radar - but the Charlton midfielder has been rated at £3million by his club. Only one other Addick has a contract until 2019, hence the big bucks demand from a Valley down in the dumps. ADVERTISING He has been Charlton player of the year twice in a row In fact, Cousins seems to be the one constant in a sea of turmoil affecting a club where fans frequently demonstrate against the owners - a club in which the 22-year-old has endured/enjoyed, delete where applicable, seven managers and an eighth twice, but still played to a terrifically high standard. He scores tremendous goals We'll let the action, below, do the talking. Cousins is a tremendous athlete So much so, he was willing to put in extra summer training with the former British Indoor Champion - the story here courtesy of our colleagues at the South London Press. He has huge amount of energy and endurance, as anybody at the unhappy Valley will tell you. Cousins against QPR last season Another telling thing about Cousins’s athletic skills First drill up after the summer break, Charlton players were required to sprint around a pitch at the training ground in New Eltham as a means of testing fitness. Coaches keep a record of times clocked, and Cousins not only beat the existing record going back some years - he went and did it again in the next run. His best position is central midfield If QPR can get him to sign on the dotted line, not only will it offer stiff competition for those who went before last season at Loftus Road. It will also provide the power and pace that gaffer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink demands under a new ‘high press’ regime that demands Hoops are in opposition faces from first whistle. http://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/839549562?-294:802:3
No but we haven't done too well with relegated players before - Fer, Caulker, Hoillet and 1 or 2 others I forget the names of right now. I have heard direct from a Charlton supporter that Cousins is pretty decent.
http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-jordan-cousins-charlton-latest-130616? Apparently, a fee has been agreed - £1.25m rising to £1.4 This is so far the only source I have...
Not the most reliable source, but if true I'd be more than happy with that ! Seems a fair price to me.
