it's anything goes colour wise for all teams. I have an old City training top which is royal blue so it's not like the colour has never been associated with BCFC.
Club legend Beryl Fudge and the shop staff more or less stopped an attempt before to have City in a away blue kit so its not been anything goes colour kit wise at City. What's wrong with any another colour?
Maybe they have different traditions. City have not had a blue kit in living memory. The Gas probably have not a red away kit either.
I remember they had a sponsor with a red logo on it and they took massive exception to it. And rightly so considering they will never ever wear red and we should never EVER wear blue.
Is the question relevant? It appears possible that Bristol City not a Midlands team could be playing in a blue strip. That would cause unease (?). In another post you have stated you couldn't care less about the colour of the away kit, it could be pink. Would it not be wise to stay away from a blue team kit? Unity?
Cant see the link with a lighter blue quarters kit, but I guess they are copying Man United. Like others on here, I used to like the white shirts and black shorts/socks of the 70s. That was also a United copy, but it had a powerful and imposing look. If in doubt, leave it out
Personally I don't have a problem, but a large proportion of the fan-base will There are so many colours to choose from, why on earth would a busniess want to upset a large proportion of it's customer base???
It's slightly sad that this is the most popular thread we've had on here in months, but there you go! Provided the home kit stays red, I couldn't really give a toss what the away kit is like. If it bothers enough people if it's blue, then there's not really any point in doing so as (as smhbcfc says) there are so many colours to choose from - from a marketing point of view, it provides an opportunity to pique some interest by mixing it up every so often. Would people consider it tacky to 'recreate' classic strips from world football and stick City's logo on it? How about a 1970 Brazil homage?
I find fandom and club traditions more interesting than yadayadyada about players because it is a constant. Players and Managers are transitory. The traditions of the club are important, remove then and its a product. It would be easy to pique interest by using those traditions. Roma have two club badges on kits. One home one away. One crest? One Robin? History? Away kits. 1976 .. What colour was it? No blues needed or obviously wanted.
Have a terrible job with onions. Have an intolerance to them but I do love onion rings so it's a bit of a bastard.
Me too, I love onions but they cripple me completely for a day afterwards. Never come across anyone else with this intolerance before, crazy ****...
As you said you said you couldn't give a toss but for some it would be a big step in the wrong direction. As others have said we should never EVER wear blue and surely, the obvious choice is - anything other than blue. Brazil and Aden Flint or a Netherlands kit total football and City not so sure. Always liked Sampdoria kits. Substitute blue for black.
My ex father in law used to have an onion intolerance. He said it was due to over indulging in onions when they were less well-off
