People are also forgetting the lure of Madrid to players partners. Manchester doesn't really match up does it lol

just signed an exciting young midfielder on a 5 year, you can come sniffing in 3 years  , the club knew Pelle wanted to leave in Jan and that's why Austin was bought in- no meltdown this year. sad that Ibe thinks Bournemouth is below him, says a lot about youth players- if one of Southamptons youngsters did that, they would be given extra homework

Problem is, Austin is more injury prone than Sturridge. How's Rodriguez? Get him back to fitness and should be good but think you might still need another one as relying on Austin and Rodriguez would be risky.

Ok so...... right now i think lfc have a coupke real obvious gaps to fill and we will not do much better without filling them.

    I think

    A) we should not lack goals next season. Firmino coutinho mane behind a sturridge should get us 60 league goals with the rest chipoing into that.

    B) i think we will still be weak in midfield and lack game control.

    C) im not sure our defence will be mean. Looks to me like matip isnt ready and will be getting fit for first month of season. With mr moreno current rhe lb i think we will leak goals as per.

So really i don't think we've done a thing yet to adress what klopp said we needed to address. The defense.

Klopp has often said its not all about transfers and just as much about training.

Get clyne moreno Sakho 10% better than last and it's an improvement.

I agree on the defence and midfield. Only thing is maybe Can will have come on a little more with the experience of last season and will take charge of games more often rather than doing it 1 in 4/5 games like he was doing last season.

I'm not too sure on your goals point, though. We will score goals when Sturridge starts, but how often is he going to start? We might get lucky and get 30+ games out of him, but we'll be lucky to get 15 games out of him going off the last 2 seasons. We have Origi who looked capable toward the end of last season but he missed a few sitters for Belgium in the Euros and looked more like the Origi we remembered before he went on his hot streak. I'm not too sure Origi or Ings are capable of leading the line for a club that wants to be in the top 4. Coutinho and Mane are capable of scoring goals and going on a run of goals but they are also prone to go on pretty long goal droughts, they need to up their consistency if we are to get some sort of run of results going. Firmino is Firmino, I think people expecting him to keep the same sort of ratio as he did in the second half of last season is pretty unrealistic, 10 goals again would be a pretty good haul for him, IMO.

I expect a bigger season of goals from Firmino. Now he i settled I believe a 20 goal season is realistic.

If Sturridge stays fit we know he will score goals.

Origi has shown he is capable, he just needs to find consistency, which usually comes with experience. He will improve as the season goes on and come good if Sturridge gets injured.

I expect much the same goal return from Coutinho, but with more assists if he is playing behind mobile forwards like Sturridge and Origi.

Ings will chip in a fair few. Mainly in cup competitions.

Man scored 10 and 11 in his 2 seasons at Southampton. Ideal for a winger.

Personally I'd like to see us exploit set pieces more. Apparently Klopps not so big on promoting them, and our kickers are famously crap. But Lovren shows real potential in the box from set pieces, and I think Matip does to. Sturridge and Origi are tall lads to. Alex Ferguson proved set pieces can make a huge difference over the course of a season.

Always feel Cout should be getting close to 10 league goals a season, but he's more a scorer of great goals. Firm however, especially if playing central, should be looking for minimum double figures in the league. I think end of last season he started to really settle and link up well with Cout/Lallana.

We have lots of those AM/Wingers in Cout, Firm, Mane, Lallana, Origi who should all be looking to hit double figures in the league. Not all of them have to, but if 2 can and Sturridge can stay fit and get 15-20 then should be fine going forward. Even last year we still scored plenty of goals in comparison to others, was just the defence that let us down

Alberto Moreno has appeared to confirm his future will be with Liverpool next season after a post on Instagram.
The Spaniard had been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer, with Jurgen Klopp looking to make changes to his squad in the summer.
But Moreno has seemingly put a dent into the claims he’ll be leaving by posting a picture of himself training ahead of the new season.
Along with the picture, he wrote: ‘I’m RED.’
The 23-year-old is clearly keen to fight for his place at Liverpool and will look to prove those who have doubted him wrong
Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne is reportedly unhappy with his status at the club since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp.
This is despite the 25-year-old being a regular at right-back under the German, and it being a major shock if he decided to leave

    Great point.
I think we've just witnessed in the last PL and the Euro's it's about getting a team working for each other.

The personal means nothing if they're on ego trips.

I'm sure Klopp can work very well during pre-season with the squad we have, the bottom line is we have a decent squad that needs fine tuning.

Obviously additional players that can buy into what Klopp is planning would be great, but it's hardly doom and gloom as it stands.

Out of interest (or pure stupidity on my part) isn't there a way of applying for a work permit before agreeing a contract?

I'm thinking there must be some kind of loop hole?
