If he could have continued he'd have stayed on the pitch, it was the biggest game of his life and you could see he was desperate to stay out there and stayed on longer than he should have done hoping he could run it off. Saying he was seeking attention by being carried off is plain daft.

A 'tap on the knee' that must have caused him great discomfort and limited mobility, hence the reason he was forced off. He didn't come off for any other reason that he just couldn't physically continue.
No doubt Portugal are grateful to have a player of Ronaldo's quality in their team, but its him who should be humble and show gratitude to the players that actually won him the medal he desperately wanted, yes his goals helped to get them to the final buts a bit ****ty on the other trophy winners to not get the proper recognition of their achievement, because as usual its all about Ronaldo.
A team which won only one game in 90 mins and came third in there group can't really be given that much praise can they? They defended well all tournament and took advantage in the final when they needed too which is good but in terms of actual performance it was dire. People always say 'yeah but if your team did that and won you would not complain' and that may be true but as a neutral you cannot look at Portugal and think they are European elite or were deserved winners.
It might be beyond you Shtan but I'm mocking Ronaldo stealing the limelight from those that actually won him his medal after he went off injured.
