As Elland is still asleep I'm helping him out

    Portugal win the cup
    Ronaldo the new Manager
    Our boys bonding in Ireland
Squad so far and another 3 to join this week, maybe even today for the first.
Strong rumor from Italy that we spent 3m euros on a player
Top day yesterday for sport: Murray, 3 other Wimbledon titles, F1, TdF Froome still in yellow, Yates in white and Cav in green.

Just a pity our footy stars let us down.

    Morning Doc and everyone...

Was stuck in front of the TV for the majority of yesterday. F1 was a bit of a bore but a Hamilton win was great. I live local but £300 a ticket was a bit steep.

Murray a strange one, as I know Scotland would have cheered on the non English guy I felt cheap and dirty wanting Murray to win.

Didn't know who I wanted out of the French and Ronaldo, a bit like choosing Chelsea or Man U to win the title.

Team is taking shape quite nicely on paper, lots of rumours and gossip, would like another quality signing, no more loans please.

Morning Doc ristac and others joining. Looking like we could start season with upwards of eight new personnel on the field. Gotta be optimistic even if it later proves to be unfounded. Euros were great till Wales went. Lost interest then tbh. Hoping to get to Saturday's friendly to get a sneak peek at some of the new recruits

I had to laugh at the end of Murrays match, where he spoke about Cameron but blanked Sturgeon who was also there. Straight after he was doing the rounds shaking hands with Wills and kate and loads more celebs, but Sturgeon wasnt around. Classic and she would have hated that as she only came down for another photo op.

I have looked at Roofe in training vids from Ireland and he looks solid, strong and quicksilver fast. He can do some damage for us this season, so expect to se Wood, Antonson and Roofe all hitting the mark a lot more. Wood must get some service for a change.

Morning all, read Noel Whelans column on Twitter and boy was it negative. Barring Cook going I don't see anything to be negative about this year. I think we are shaping up to have a good season. We are bringing in younger hungry players and experienced players which is what is needed. Doesn't matter if they cost money or are loans, the object this season is to challenge at the top and I don't see any reason why we can't.
Hoping we can bring in another two or three decent players to finish off the squad.
Half watched the tennis and the Euro final but wasn't really bothered by either result. Just want the pre season friendlies to start to have a look at some of the new signings on LUTV.

Seen interviews with Grimes, Roofe etc and to a man they either hint or openly say 'This new project for promotion' that says to me is that Monk has been given cash and tools to go for it. Reports from Ireland are good regarding players getting on and bonding well, and the training looks sharp and some good ball skills. rumors of up to £6m still available to spend from Byram cash and latest deals. We also know Cellino has put in £42m of his own cash. I'm hoping he now wants to see a return on his investment. No we can't compete with parachute payments or half the clubs in our league who are on it, but getting the right coach, squad of players is more important and maybe no superstars but a strong team who are a team can do wonders.

Chipster will put a bomb under this. #Staying optimistic

I don't mind the loans we have so far, they might not be the best in the world but at least we have managed to get first dibs, our own first choices over seeing what is left for a change, at least we are not scraping the bottom of the barrel.

My concern with loan players is that when the going gets tough they know at the end of the season they can walk away, we need some stability. The balance at present is okay, next players in though need to be permanent signings unless there is a loan signing available that is head and shoulders above what we have.

Very happy with Roofe, just like Wood we have to be realistic, for the kind of money we have you have to take a bit of a gamble, nobody is going to sell you a proven Championship goal scoring machine for under £10m. I do believe both Roofe and Wood will bag us 20 goals each this season, if not it will not be far off, 38 goals between them is my prediction.

Start of any season I always look at the team and think how many goals does that squad have in it, past couple of season I have always said we don't have anywhere near 50 goals in us, this coming season I believe we could be nearing 60 comfortably.

Morning All - hope you are right Ristac because those extra goals would be quite a jump in league position. I don't think we will get near the top two but am quietly optimistic for edge of Play Offs. Tough league but a bit of consistency can get you thereabouts

I try and give an honest opinion as I see things, I am only negative when things are going that way <ok> I still think Cellino is a bad apple but one that means well just useless and can't see it.

I generally agree with Chippy as things are usually bad

I still don't think as things stand we are good enough for top 6 but apart from Cook/Grimes the players in are better than the players out and saying that Cook never had a great season. A couple more players in and who knows.

Last season it was the same though, very promising and in a very short space of time it was once again chaos, we shall see.

I am happy that these are obviously Monk signings.

    Morning all....

I don't like Murray and was disappointed he won.

Summer is shaping up to be a good one. I'm waiting to see who Monk brings in this week

To be fair, for a serious comment "I generally agree with Chippy as things are usually bad" made me laugh :emoticon-0102-bigsm

    I agree with LeedsLover <yikes>?

Did you not see for yourself how bad Wood was last season? He has only scored over 20 in a season once - in fact, that season apart, his record is pretty grim - for the 9 English clubs he has played for he has scored just 59 goals from 220 appearances!

His last 20 league goals took 87 games <ok>
