SIX BMB? Wow...I know Charles Stokell is #1, then Joanna, and I know there will be Roo and me. Who are the others.? You and the Mrs are not up there are you?
Currently No3 on the Old Geezers List is Yardley Tiger (78) followed by yours truly(78 in Sept), TigerRoo (78 in Nov) and yourself (78 in Jan). Mrs BMB is a spring chicken at 74!
My lovely Mam, aged 92 and still living at Wymersley Road (she was born in Hull in 1923), listens to the City commentary on RH every match day, and we always discuss the game the following day. You kids have all got a long way to go yet.
She's 10 years older than Charles Stokell. Get her to sign on here Bengals and give us her thoughts on the games and all that's going on with the Club. I for one would be very interested in her comments. What was the first Hull City match she attended....pre WWII probably. And who is her favourite all-time Hull City player???
She was too busy raising her four kids, myself being the oldest, to actually attend any games. She sometimes talks about Viggo Jensen, who apparently lived over the other side of Bristol Road. She was a friend of Raich Carter, when he had a newsagent shop on the corner of Perry Street and Anlaby Road; the shop also sold sweets, so she often took me in there as a nipper. She has no idea about what's going on at the club these days -- she believes the owner is "foreign" but very nice and "well thought of". I don't press the point, as we have plenty of other things to talk about during my weekly (Sunday) call.
