It'd be nice if in the next few races Nico lost two of his engines to even up the usage a bit. I'd hate for that to be a deciding factor in where the championship goes.

Preferably the engine letting go after the checkered flag so that the points stay close :p

somehow i think lewis grossly exaggerates the effect.

The only really big effect i see out of managing engines is if you just run one a very long time and its horsepower is down.

I think the penalties thing is just vastly exaggerated as with the merc looking the way its looking lewis could put a total new engine in, start flat last and finish 2nd (IMO)

In fact having seen the advantage at Bacu I would have thought after a poor qauli they should have put a new engine in then but it did work out for him anyway.

If Mercedes pick their time for the penalties its no big deal.

also lets face it. if we want a ding dong season rosberg needs a few advantages

I was wondering wheres best to take new a new PU, Hamilton is probably going to need to do it twice this season and take a penalty. I was thinking Monza would be a good place, but then you've got a new engine that you've just slaughtered for a race. Their hand may be forced eventually, makes sense to tie it in with fluffing quali so that theres lots of tires to use.

This I'm not sure about. Everytime they get stuck in traffic they look vulnerable. Perhaps this was just the issue Lewis had at Baku but the Force India's and Williams are always difficult for the Mercs to pass it seems.

    Too true, too true! XD

Totally agree, if he has to start at the back anyway then don't bother with Quali and just start from the pit lane with maximum new tyres.

Reported on C4 that the punishment Merc have threatened to dish out should their be contact again is for the offending driver to sit out the next race!!!
I wonder what happens if they are both at fault? Didn't think Merc had 2 reserve drivers?
Sounds like Merc are that confident in their car that any driver can get them a podium!!!! Does make you wonder how much power in 'reserve' they have......

I suspect what they say they'll do and what they'll actually do are quite different things. The excuse they could use is that even a single point by a reserve driver is better than their first driver crashing out.

Nice threat but doesn't sounds likely. Could you image the uproar if one of the drivers missed out on the WDC but a point or two because of this?

So ........ conspiracy theories? How about.... Nico's car unable to be repaired before race start or the same fault happens just before the race. This is Merc being subtle and suspending Nico for a race! XD

The British fans I think are giving Nico a bit of what Lewis got in Austria.

McHonda what is happening????? You both have so much history, you are looking more and more inept as the years go on........ Very Sad.
Seems like Button had a problem with rear wing and only had 1 run. Still not great.

Sounds like Jensen has a reprieve. Seems like Kmag's time has been deleted!
    Edit.
Maybe not. Seems like lots of confusion.
Kmag's time has not been deleted. So McHonda making a mistake, but at least they reacted quickly enough had the time been deleted.

Naughty Hamilton. Gaining time off the track.

They are getting confused, Magnussens first lap didn't get deleted, I think they have assumed it as it was shown in a replay. Crofty is an idiot!
