I think this has been discussed briefly before, but I think this season could possibly see a change in leader on the field? Who would everyone prefer to lead the team?

I think I've included the most likely candidates, experience wise?

I've gone Howson but I would not be upset to see Klose get it if only to incentivise him to stay.

I'd go for Klose with Howson a close second. It must be one of the girst names on the team sheet and of yhe current squad these two are certainties with maybe only Olsson if he stays. I cant think of any others who will definitely play when fit.
I reserve right to change my mind if we ever sign someone and they are a better candidate.

    Bah!

I went with Klose, but would be equally happy with Howson.

Do we really see it being taken away from Martin?

Unfortunately no, this would also likely place him in the team. Even of our current bunch I'd put him behind Pinto at RB and Klose and Bennett at CB. I think he is though a very capable player in both those positions in the chump

    Bah!

Gone for Klose, such a natural leader. But if he is not picked it must be someone further up the pitch as he rules the defense and there is no point in having two leaders there. So that means Jonny Howson as the alternative for me.

Seems like a fairly pointless thread now, almost everyone is convinced it should be Klose or Howson.

Nice to have some agreement on the board though :emoticon-0148-yes:

Most likely we will see a scenario where Martin is club captain but not in the starting eleven, so the vice captain would captain the side?

Went for Klose for captain on the pitch but think Martin should be the club captain as his experience and history set him apart from many of the others now

Most other seasons, and almost this season, I'd say Howson. BUT I really love Klose on the pitch, he's is so organised. Gets everyone else into gear, he leads by example. Off the pitch He's a real laugh. He will make moral so much better in the dressing room and on the training ground. Also, I prefer my Captain to be a CB.

As many people have said "If the Captaincy and a new contract makes him stay, give him!". If he is going to stay, at least until January. I would say Howson. He deserves it, he's a constant, he's solid. If he got the captaincy, Klose would still be doing all that anyway, because it's the man and player he is. It would be like having 2 captains on the pitch.

So I don't know how to vote. Howson with Klose as Vice, if Klose wants to stay.
Klose with Howson as Vice if Klose is getting tempted by clubs.

.....You could also say Howson might need offering a new contract and captaincy to keep him too!

I went for Klose because as others have said, he appears a great leader. I know Howson captained Feeds but I couldn't see him barking out orders TBH.

Now come on, own up, who's the comedian who voted for Naismith <laugh>

Yep, I think Naismith is going to be a huge player for us. I could see him being here for five or six years and become a club legend.

But won't his mobility scooter carve the famous turf up?
Not sure the ground staff will appreciate that ;)
