Fenerbache don't want him either, they're desperate to off-load him.

 

Personally I would take RVP, he knows where the goal is and even if he is passed his best, probably still better than we will probably finish up with.

 

Also a ****-ton more expensive!! Body won't hold up to a season of PL football.

Would anyone prefer to see Robin van Persie playing for Middlesbrough rather than Hull City?

 

I accept he maybe too expensive wages wise, but as a player he is only 32, scored 14 in 29 appearances for Fenerbahçe which as not a bad strike rate. He isn't a player that needs to run around a lot, he just does what he is good at scores goals.

 

I would, though he'd be in their treatment room more often than he's on the pitch.

 

Didn't we decide that Charlie Austin didn't have the legs for the Premier League?

 

How's he gone since he moved to soton? We don't get coverage of their reserves over here.

Also, anyone who honestly believes that Van Persie would be a poor signing for us needs their heads checking.

 

He didnt sign for Southampton instead of us. He signed for QPR and scored 18 Premier League goals.

Wasnt the point you made. You said West Ham scouts had decided he didn't have the legs for it and therefore we shouldn't be interested. I was just pointing out that clubs get this wrong.

 

I think there's less chance of that with an older player who has already played in the league, but yes I'll agree that it's not a perfect science.
