Luanel Messi? With Musa seemingly done, im not sure we are going to splash out on this one, can't see us spending roughly £50m just on forwards, it would be great! but just don't see it. Schmeichel Simpson Huth Morgan Fuchs Kante Mendy Luan Mahrez Musa Vardy
If that was our attack, then yes, thats just what i'd feel we'd play if we got both of them (could put DD in for Mendy, as we don't know his ability yet) basically a 4-3-3 which would give us another tactical option. If we just get Musa, then i'd expect it to stay 4-4-2 with Okazaki making way. Even in 4-4-2 though, it would be either Mendy or Drinkwater. Probably many twists to come before the start of the season, in and out, too early to pitch a starting 11, just felt this was a formation to accommodate Luan Musa and Vardy in the same 11.
So that would be 4-5-1 with Musa or Vardy (or any other striker we bring in) on the bench? Sigurdsson is a quality player and could be used as a more dynamic attacking central midfielder as an alternative to Mahrez when he's not playing wide or Andy King. I don't see him competing with the likes of Drinkwater, Mendy, Kante or Amartey.
Yes. Strange I know but our record signing is significantly lower than the market value of our starting players and, from my guess work and maybe wrong, not good enough to start above the others mentioned
One spent most of the season on the bench or on loan.at another club Also the back four cost about £6.5m for the 4 of them. Which one them are you going to drop because they didn't cost alot.?
If people are saying that high priced players should play then lower costing ones may miss out. However with the quality we have now is CR going to keep all of them happy, hope it is not the return of the tinkerman
Inevitably we will need a bigger and better squad if we wish to compete realistically in the Champions League without adversely affecting our progress in the domestic league and cup competitions. This will mean new players coming in and displacing some of the current fans' favourites and other good players who have been on the fringe. It will mean squad rotation (rather than tinkering) will become a fact of life, and good players may end up spending more time than they would like on the bench. Ranieri's skills and man management techniques will be tested to the limit to pull it off successfully. I think this coming season will be more difficult for him than last season. That's the price of success, and if you try and stand still, you end up falling behind.
A good signing. Owners putting their hands in their pockets, nice. What do we need next ? please log in to view this image
We still have 3 quite old centre backs. Unless Moore suddenly steps up think we probably need another, hence the Keane interest. Think we are fine up front and midfield now especially if we can hang on to Kante.
3 old in Morgan, Huth and Wasyl and one in his prime in Hernandez. Could do with a younger CB but spending £15M on someone that will be on the bench for the foreseeable future - is a reason we are in for that Icelandic CB even though he is 30.
Quite a few sites are reporting that we are after William Carvalho - would be a sign Kante is definitely leaving.
He'd certainly be a good replacement, as he's a bit younger and had some really big clubs looking at him, looked good last night against a good French midfield, obviously Kanté missed out from the losing side!
