Echo article of the same 13 players: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/14594752.Saints_sign_up_academy_starlets/?ref=rss
I bet poor Willy was teased at school a fair bit. I like the sound of Javen Siu. Sounds like a Mortal Kombat character.
If anyone is playing the "where did we poach these kids from" game, I count 1 of 13 of this year's intake who appear to be from Southampton initially. 2 ex-Chelsea, 2 ex-Plymouth, a couple Irish-born, and one each from Pompey and Bournemouth, among others.
Any more information on any of the new intake or just what has come out of club? I know there's a couple of Irish, & Nigerian players. One of the two just mentioned is from Austria (Rapid Wien?) and the Scottish lad there was a bit of buzz about. However, does anyone have anything more? Eager for something to keep me occupied until we sign someone or we start playing some pre season games
Anyone know what's happened with Josh Sims progress 2 years or so ago he was tearing it up in a tournament for England Under 17s. I sometimes see him in the first team training images and videos the OS puts up and obviously he's been playing for under 21s just wanted to see if anyone thought we should still have high hopes for him? Maybe he just needs a loan to get his career off on the right foot like Turnbull?
Suggestion in Nigerian paper that Nigeria will try and cap Ole (what's his name) to avert England doing it. Depends how English he feels.
I have the same feeling although I only saw him once last season at Gillingham so maybe a bit harsh but he looked a very sloppy player. He may get away with it in L1 but would be an embarrassment in PL
I have seen him play quite a few times for Swindon now and I believe L1 is his level and I know Swindon are hoping to him get either for free or very little. Shame really for the lad but Swindon does seem to be a good fit for him.
What's happend to hesketh he had those Few minutes at Burnley ages ago, I've not seen or heard of him since, does he live in a cave or something?
Got a few mins against Man U then 30 mins against Burnley until he received a kick to the knee, Then sadly didn't get another chance under Ron, I am sure he will feature in some way this season at least in some cup games.
Not a cave, the last I heard he was being held captive by Koeman at an abandoned warehouse somewhere on the outskirts of the M25. He was given regular exercise throughout the day and allowed to watch match of the day on a Saturday to see what could have been. Erwin undertook most of the training whilst Ronald taught education. The schooling was mainly on family values and loyalty. There is not enough loyalty in football and whilst Koeman didn't expect heskith to stay at Southampton all his life, he was expected to honour his contract. At night he would go to sleep listening to tapes with that message on. Many of his mates from the academy would stay on long sleepovers that could last a whole season. In koemans rush to move to Merseyside, he left maps of the secret location in his staplewood office. On claudes arrival the group was rescued and returned to familiar surroundings of the Southampton training ground. He is now gradually being integrated with first team players. He now goes to sleep listening to songs by Vanessa paradis and how to take opportunities to find the path to first team football. We March on together. That's what I heard anyway................................................and yes I'm bored.
