Star's Liverpool exit in doubt amid growing interest in midfielder LIVERPOOL ace Sergi Canos is stalling on a £2.5m move to Bristol City, according to reports. please log in to view this image ACE: Sergi Canos The Liverpool Echo claim the midfielder is getting cold feet amid interest from Norwich. Canos looked set to move to the south west in a deal worth £2.5m after contract discussions with Liverpool broke down. But it's reported Canos is now hesitant about a move to City after the Canaries entered the fray. Canos, 19, wanted £10,000-per-week to stay at Anfield but the club weren't willing to meet his demands. The bumper weekly wage would have resulted in Canos earning considerably more than other Academy graduates. The starlet made his first-team debut against West Brom on the final day of last season having impressed during a loan stint with Brentford. He joined the Reds’ academy from La Liga giants Barcelona in 2013. During his stint at the Bees last season, he bagged seven goals in 38 appearances. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/526464/Sergi-Canos-Norwich-Liverpool-transfer-news-gossip
If he's waiting for a better offer, pull the deal City and move onto the next one. Liverpool fans think he is a greedy git, on 5k a week at 19 or quarter of a million a year and thinks he is hard done by.
Walk away from this one - let's be honest he's going to go to Norwich who can pay him far more in their wage structure
How come we have this sickening ability to travel down the same road and expect different scenery? Wake up Bristol City and know where you want go and then never look back and second guess yourselves. If you took a historical survey and assessed why players have turned us down over the last few years, other than the usual greed and self idolisation, then perhaps we would at least have chance of progress based on our experiences. However I get the impression that we haven't even come close to that point yet because when I see the same old rhetoric followed by the same old poor, if any, follow up then I know we will struggle to get the job done.
To be fair it is silly season where the unscrupulous agents will sell their clients into slavery if it makes them a few quid. It's also sad but true that we are a very small fish in this pond and will only ever to be able to pick up players that no-one else wants, or we may be lucky enough to pick their casts offs. We simply cannot compete with the likes of Newcastle, Villa, Norwich with their vast Parachute Payments. Nor indeed with the Derby's and co of this division. Therefore I just hope the club have identified realistic targets where we wont end up being gazumped on multiple occasions.
We went into this one knowing the players demands and by the looks at it prepared to meet them. This one is as Angelic pointed out the Agents has sensed that Norwich are interested and looking to get the better deal than the one the player wanted. This one is nothing the club could of done, we could go into a wage war with Norwich but given income v outgoing we are never going to compete with the likes of over 50% of the clubs in this division. Simply because we are still unsure of we could fill the ground we have. Some say pay the sums these players want and people will come, but if they don't then we go back to where we was five years ago. But this time if we done that we would be hit with a transfer emargo and fine like Fulham and Cardiff last season. I know you like to complain about the club, and fair play you are good at it, but to challenge we should be looking at unearthed gems which is like looking for oil in the UK. There is some but finding it is near on impossible.
Move on to the next target. If Canos is more interested in the money than the club, he is not for us!
Yep I agree, don't try and just waste time, give him a deadline if he can't agree to it move on. Too many players waste time trying to get other clubs into the mix.
Cidered We'll just move on to a player that rejects a Gillingham or Swindon. Seems it's the way of the world.
The stupid thing about all this is that the player of his age should go to a club where he is going to play There are some decent agents who appreciate that it's in their clients best interest at a young age to be on the pitch, but some have a very short-term (money now) outlook. It would appear that this player has the latter.
