Quite the opposite in my opinion. If it was clear, why not just come out and say it? He says, "Despite the talk of potential take overs, my focus is on what happens on the pitch and as far as I am concerned it is business as usual." Or... "Since no-one has a clue what's going on with regards to ownership of the club, for now, I still have a job, so I thought it best that I let you know we are getting ready for next season"
Hardly a shock. If he was going he would have gone a while ago. More bad news for the headline writers of gloom and doom. Mad HATter wont be happy either
Perhaps he just wants to be part of Portugese pre season so City pay for his flight to go and inspect his property portfolio
Though I'm not posting any precise details, even a divvy like you should be able to figure out what date a football manager on a rolling contract might see his contract terms triggered.
Well I for one am with Hessle. As someone who writes such statements for a living this one says more with what it doesn't say than it does - 'as far as I'm concerned it's business as usual' - that reads to me like he hasn't discussed this with anyone. Indeed the only discussion that seems to have occurred is an agreement over transfer budget and that would apply to whoever was in charge. It's a very interesting statement and I wouldn't be surprised in the least if Bruce not only wasn't involved in this, but didn't even know it was being released.
Bruce wont have written it but will have approved it's issue. The England link looks to have been a rumour too far.
OLM will be right, there had to be a decision made by today being the last day of June to trigger the next year of his rolling contract. I would expect all this now means is that if a new buyer wants to get their own manager in they will have to pay SB up to 30th June 2017.
Well of course he won't have written it, no media statement from anyone ever is written by the person whose name it is in.
