A German managing England surely would increase our ability at penalties, no?

I like Klinsmann. At least he has a connection with English football.

My first thought was you meant the American keeper, but that's Hope Solo.

    Any one of:

    Howe
    Hoddle
    Bilic
    Hiddink
    Klinsmann
    Blanc

I'd be happy with. Some obviously more than others. Would prefer Bilic the most.

Just don't pick Southgate, for ****s' sake. Please.

Im sure I heard on the radio that Southgate has got the temporary job and the FA are looking at approaching Wenger to take over permanatly when his Arsenal contract runs out

Having managed here for 20 odd years, Wenger is at least representative of English football.

We played like a Wenger team anyway, passing for the sake of it and not having any shots!

I am surprised at you, normally a voice of reason, suggesting Beckham become England manager - and particularly your comment that he is 'passionate about England'. A lovely man, I'm sure, but he is inarticulate, possesses little charisma or gravitas, has demonstrated no understanding of tactics, and would probably make the same mistake just about every England manager has done for the past few decades by making friends with the players. They are too cosseted as it is, with everyone in their bubble talking each other up (Sturridges recent paean to the Sterling being a good example - 'he's an amazing player, one of the best in the world...') and Beckham is unlikely to be any different. Seriously, Beckham is a cock.

SAF has said on a number of occasions that he will NEVER manage England or has any desire to. FACT.

I personally would not mind Guus Hiddink. Handles big name players very well. However the players need to start by getting mentally strong.

He said he'd prefer him over Southgate, not that he actually wants Beckham as a manager.

    ****ing learn to read.

If I'd actually suggested Beckham be the next England manager, you'd have a point, but I actually suggest Hiddink.

Considering we appear to have a real problem with the team folding under any sort of pressure, why would anyone want the one manager whose teams do exactly the same, year in year out.

The FA don't have to rush this appointment at all. In fact I hope they take a long time and get it right.

Our WC group is hardly a strong one anyway.

At the moment the England players need a schrink more than a manager.
