I thought their analysis was quite good and impartial. They also said the Premier League is overrated. I agree with that. It is the league with the most money but most of the big stars are foreigners and that is not good for developing young English talent.
Take the defeat on the chin. A bit of light relief: Flood warning in England tonight as Millions of Welsh are pi**ing themselves laughing.
So did I Fingi, always try to watch on RTE as the jingoism of the especially ITV commentators gets my back up......said some home truths that you'd never hear on BBC or ITV........
Just no plan, out of ideas after 30mins. Have to say massive credit to Iceland, played to win and had a plan. Not massively excited by Southgate, would be excited by Eddie Howe but it won't happen.
Just torturing myself by watching the BBC version. And immediately obvious that there was no need for their keeper to foul Sterling as he would never have controlled the ball, it would have bounced off him for a goal kick a la SWP.
The comments from the BBC pundits are like the dire stuff at the beginning of 'Three Lions'. Which shows we've been here before. Many times.
The perennial problem. Why play a left footed left back at left back, when I can put a star player whose a right footed centre back there said graham Taylor back in 1992. Every England manager has this disease for picking the star player, even if he's a square peg. Maybe with the exception of venables
I would love to see an England team with only players from championship downwards...just for one game at least...they couldn't do any bleedin worse
