The problem is that there is no strategy for success. The FA should have a clear vision and philosophy for how they want England play, right through the age groups. Players should not graduate from the youth teams until they are old enough apart from in exceptionable circumstances. A shortage of talented players has never been the problem.
UK 65million people and 1300 UEFA qualified coaches Iceland 30 thousand people 850 UEFA qualified coaches. We have the most exciting and richest league in the world. We don't have the best players. We simply MUST start again.
That's true. But even when England win or play well it is hardly ever a comprehensive performance. The perfect example today was Italy. I doubt whether many of those Italian players are individually considered to be super footballers. Yet, time and again, they rise to the occasion and probably play their best football of their careers for their national team. I would submit that the pressure that England players suffer is badly managed by each England manager after Alf Ramsey, and his teams started to under perform later on. I've even heard Vialli, for example, mention in the past that Italy deal with pressure by utterly dismissing it. So they play with utter concentration and commitment, at the crucial times.
If it carries on at this rate, we'll be 3rd ranked in a group with Germany and oh, let me see....Iceland?
Agree could have been a bit better. Perhaps the players are not paid enough or they didn't like the amount of the win bonus money
It is so much deeper than that. Another coach. Another group of players. Lots of coaches. Lots of groups of players. It is more than that.
Koeman should have stuck around for the big job, replacing Roy!! Give it to Pochettino. He might get that shower of sh1t, that filled 5 places, performing. Victor Wanyama must think he's been signed as a play maker, after watching that.
You should get that translated into Latin. Probably wouldn't be quite as memorable as Veni, Vidi, Vici.
I thought his contract was up after this or did it run to 2018? If it was now, what the ****ing has he resigned for?
If an experienced manager can't do the job how is an inexperienced manager going to cope? Or you mean the exArsenal guy?
