Anyone who wants away fans in the North West corner in future should be going for the West Upper now, at least all the exit arrangements would already be in place.
Barely anybody sits there as it is. By 2020, we'll have all moved at some point anyway. All part of the fun and games of the Allam Ownership. Just you wait until the East are moved to the South and the South out the stadium on the hill.
You said you wanted my view. I don't think our supporters should be moved out of the upper west to accommodate away supporters. I want them out of the north east corner so that leaves the north west corner. A well run football club would discuss with our supporters in the north west corner before making the decision and hopefully providing suitable alternative arrangements. Charging £30 a seat for the upper west for matches against Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Leicester seems to be a waste when we could charge more and fill the seats.
I'd give them the end 2 blocks of the West upper and a couple directly below in the north west lower corner.
Putting aside the issue of people having to move again, IMO NW corner would seem to be the logical place to put them. This would mean the best vocal support we have, which is the East and last season in the NW, would be together in the NE and East.
Random blocks of 4 seats scattered throughout the stadium. No chance of them getting a decent chant together, and in the case of trouble, each block would be totally surrounded by home fans. Radical, or what?
I was not allowed to remain in the West Stand Upper and moved to the North Stand, l have now moved again into the North West. So the suggestion is, l move again. Move one, no choice. Move two economics and a third move without choice? My first argument against the NW would be the same as for Upper West. It does not work after the match. My second would be that I do not want to be in the East Stand. It means further for me to walk back to my parking space. (Even worse after a game.) The impact on my bladder, would also mean l have to cut back on at least one pre match pint. I can make it from the Airco to the North Stand, with a minute or two to spare, but once I have had my first pre match piss, the second is never far behind. I am surprised that others do not consider the needs of football pissheads, when suggesting these things.
Unfortunately, they've been moved out of there already, so moving the away end again would result in a load more seat moves.
How many passes sold for the North stand? How many moved as a consequence of the membership scheme, be it direct out of upper west, or indirect, such as those not wanting to sit near away fans or through the cost of zones, none of which received much opposition or campaigning?
The seats in the corner are Zone 1, which are apparently all sold out, so though I don't have any precise numbers for the whole stand, I suspect the sold out seats will be quite full...
Unlike the upper west, there are equivalent seats available at the other end of the north stand. That would save thousands in the upper west being moved. The 'how' that is done being crucial.
Surely to accommodate sufficient seats for away fans, "the north west corner" means N1-N4. Which is most of the north stand. It's just a return to how things were.
The comments suggest that most want them moved and votes say remain. Is this Allam's vocal minority again?
