From what appears to be a more than likely rumour, Craig Bellamy is to rejoin Celtic for a season long loan.
Watched Bellamy a few times when he was last at Celtic and he's a cracking player, who I would have been happy to see in a Leeds shirt. What has amazed me is that he is likely to be taking a massive drop in wages (weekly) to join Celtic. I understand he is currently on £90,000 per week at Man City and that Celtic will pay (along with Man City) £25,000 per week, that's an amazing £65,000 per week salary drop.
I know professional footballers at this level earn far too much money and that the majority of us live on a salary of around £25,000 per year, never mind a week, but it's a huge drop in wages and wonder if anyone else would agree to it, taking account of your normal salary and taking a similar drop?

I wouldn't boab but that's with my wages now, I don't want to be homeless, lol.

I think if I was earning my yearly salary per week, like professional footballers do, and like Bellamy, I had played at the highest levels and was nearing the stage where I was more focused on personal happiness then I'd like to think I would. There's more to life than money and when you already have enough of it not to worry then you have to do what's right for you and family!

I would never want Bellamy at Leeds - An absolute arse head from all accounts and again hardly a shining light in the proffesional era...

You can look at it another way, who is ever going to sign him now for £90k a week? Imagine if he refused to play unless he was paid £90,000 a week/game it would more than likely mean he would never play a game of football again. A bit like being made redundant and having nothing sitting on your arse at home or finding a new employer for less than you were on previously.

Ken - I don't disagree with you pal, not in the slightest. Wasn't he known as 'hemeroid' (due to him being a pain in the arse) at every club he'd been at before Cardiff?
