They also forgot that the net contribution to the EU was only 0.4% of our GDP and that GDP will fall from anywhere between 1.7 and 6% post Brexit

A simple fact I spelt out in numerous occasions before the vote. The net gain will in fact end up being a net loss.

They fell for the bullshit and more fool them.

The poison pixi will do anything to become queen of Scotland, when she wanted independence and was told they would no longer be a part of the EU she didn't care, now the UK leaving the EU is her new big reason for breaking away.

I think her point might be something to do with the fact that losing their EU status was one of the prime reasons why the Scots elected to stay as part of the Union, but don't let facts get in the way like.

And she lost that vote, partially due to the populous decision that their EU membership was of great value.

By now pointing out that there's no mandate for withdrawal in Scotland she's doing her ****ing job.

I find it interesting so many are sure that applying to eu for Scotland means euro.

How many of the last assession states adopted the euro?

    Like.....

The Scott have that "legal tender" of theirs. This is the same arguement as in their 2014 referendum..

It seems it's fine for the uk to say f you to eu but not ok for Scotland to do the exact time same.....

I do find it highly ironic

Yup. The 2014 Westminster parliment was totally different to this one. There was no eu referendum.

The SNP went into 2015 expecting to hold the keys to west minister but instead found a tory government he'll bent on a eu referendum voted in.

The SNP are doing exactly what their political rights allow...

Like..... one rule for UK but Scotland have another?

People who think the 3.8% majority of the UK wanting to Leave is a sufficient mandate but the 24% majority of Scotland wanting to stay is not a relevant mandate are #deluded

All new states who join the EU must adopt the Euro it is a prime requirement.
The only possibility if Scotland got Independence whilst UK was staying in the EU was that they could be treated as existing members so keep GBP but really a non starter if UK not a member

    Yes he's under severe pressure.

If labour fudge it and keep him they'll be toast.

The only leader we've seen this weekend has been the SNP battle axe.

Here is a bit on the euro

All EU Member States are part of Economic and Monetary Union, which means they coordinate their economic policies for the benefit of the EU as a whole. However, not all EU Member States are in the euro area – only those having adopted the euro are members of the euro area.

Of the Member States outside the euro area, Denmark and the United Kingdom have 'opt-outs' from joining the euro. These two countries can join in the future if they so wish.

Sweden is not yet in the euro area, as it has not made the necessary changes to its central bank legislation and it does not meet the convergence criterion related to participation in the Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM II). However, under the Treaty, Sweden is required to adopt the euro once it fulfils the necessary conditions.

The remaining non-participating Member States acceded to the Union in 2004, 2007 and 2013, after the euro was launched. At the time of their accession, they did not meet the conditions for entry to the euro area, therefore their Treaties of Accession allow them time to make the necessary adjustments – they are Member States with a 'derogation', as is Sweden. These Member States have committed to joining the euro area as soon as they fulfil the entry conditions. When this is the case, the 'derogation' is 'abrogated' by a decision of the Council, and the Member State concerned adopts the euro.

National target dates for adoption of the euro
The Treaty does not specify a particular timetable for joining the euro area, but leaves it to Member States to develop their own strategies for meeting the conditiosn for euro adoption. Seven of the 13 Member States who joined the EU since 2004 have already joined the euro area, most recently Lithuania on 1 January 2015.

You could take 10 years to join.

You don't have to join day 1 but it seems you have to accept the euro to join now.

Laziness is a virtue round here.. I thought you'd understand given you were telling me the eu laws.

    Anyway...

    Countries who use euro

19 of the 28 member states of the European Union: Austria,Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland,France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy,Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain.

So 9 less uk and Denmark = 7 to adopt.
