    Barton is hardly modest, but he's right most of the time about himself. He's a fantastic player and he's worth a good contract and good wages because we all know he'll earn it and then some.

    He always works hard, and is fantastic in 90% of his games.

    Just heard on twitter Newcastle have been in talks with another club about Barton, hopefully he's telling them no.

    Yesterday definitely wasn't in that 90% though! Jonas got a lot of stick from the friends with me, but I thought Barton was just as poor -- Cabaye carried the midfield on his back in the first half (I'm sure the match was talked to death on here yesterday, but I avoided not606 last night)

    Who gave players a voice ?

    When did they ever have it taken away from them ? Frankly, anything that makes them a little less completely removed from the fans is a good thing.

    Emphatically no! Barton is doing his best do discredit the ****hole of a board we have. Hopefully it'll cause enough of a rumpus for Ashley to put his hand in his pocket. I'm behind everything Barton is saying. The club is ran by morons and will be until something drastic happens. I hope all the players speak out!

    You're deluded if you think anything Joey said was for the good of the club. He's a great player, but if you think he thought all of his public rants were going to help bring in other players, or help keep him with the club that he apparently loves so much, then you're kidding yourself. There was nothing productive about his irresponsible twitter and Q&A sessions rants, and he knew that from Day 1. Even if what he says is true (despite what you might think, I agree with a lot of it), how he went about it was bad for the club and the fans. And don't think he didn't know that if the club did release him he'd both get paid, and land at another club.

    So what is the official position then ? If you can't say anythign nice you shouldn't say anything at all ?

    Is this from the same people who call Pardew a yes man ?
