Would have liked a bit more, but much happier if he goes to Saints rather than Stoke. Could be hell also get be in the starting regularly and played in the position more suited to his skills!!!!

I read on Sky that Redmond is indeed having a medical on the South Coast - probably the worst kept secret in recent Norwich City transfer history. They also quoted the fee at £11 million.

I'd be happy with £11m for Redmond, though I'd imagine at least £1m of that is add ons and 15% of the fee goes to Brum. Hopefully we've insisted on a sell-on fee as well.

Not totally sad to see him go, talented undoubtedly, but so inconsistent and never quite convinced. I wish him all the best and I like Southampton so hope the can find the consistency and fireworks we could not!

    Bah!

let's spend that 11 mil (minus the chaff to the Blues of Birmingham) on keeping Klose close

Wasted the class player, and will waste the small amount of money we made on him.

11M is pretty cheap for him.

We wont see that spent. Lets see the Port Vale or Oldham youth players we bring in now...And then loan our to League 2.

I would suggest wandering around with your hands on your hips because you lost the ball is anything BUT class!

No. We are a championship club.

And even if we were still in the Premiership, we wouldn't spend good money like that on that kind of potential. We'd buy Samaras for about 9 million.

Maybe £8m in if he was 10 years older and Scottish.

Quote from NR on his move to Saints - “I’m really pleased to have made the move to Southampton,” Redmond said. “It’s a fantastic football club with excellent facilities, and I really feel I can develop my game here." “The club’s style of play has always been excellent. They like to play attacking football and it’s a style I feel I can really fit in well with. “When Southampton said they were interested it felt like the right move for me, and I can’t wait to get started now.”
Says it all for me really and who knows - in a better team and with better players, he could realise his full potential which he was NEVER going to do at Norwich

11m for a player who didn't always get a game for a relegated side shows how much cash premium clubs can afford to gamble. In a good side surrounded by decent players Redmond may develop into the player we all hoped he would be for us, or he may continue to frustrate the life out of the fans and spend an awful lot of time on the bench.

I for one wish him well but I do wish he'd put more of a shift in and not wasted his undoubted talent when he was with us.

Redders was not always the player we hoped he would be but for me his goals against the Binners in the play-off semi and Boro in the final makes his overall contribution more positive than negative.

I wish him well at Southampton - a good club where I believe he will develop.

Fully concur with this <ok> With NCFC's recent 'one step forward, two steps back' approach, it's no surprise that some of the players who hung in there two years ago and famously got re-promoted at the first attempt might think twice this time. Tuesday night trips to Barnsley or Preston are not everyone's cup of tea!
Fully expecting Brady and Klose to follow suit, but have worries about others in the same position, who may not really fancy the grind of the championship again so soon. I'm thinking Olsson, Howson, Tettey, who would all be valuable assets to a mid to lower Prem side. Hope I'm wrong on this!

Edit - this sums it up quite nicely - once you've got past the pop-up video clips, etc <doh>
