You're not telling me Saints are appointing another manager who resigned from their job on very good terms and with apparently no new club lined up?
I was born in 1969! I went to the same school that Jimmy Dickinson had gone to and delivered his milk! I Partially followed in his footsteps too, but I am lead to believe his career was a bit better than mine
http://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2016/ogc-nice-the-alternative-football-success-story/ Don't know if seen....interesting view on Puel.
Hey Fran, you can't post positive things about a manager people don't want Low expectations, strong youth academy, good club infrastructure, nice passing style, developing youngsters, signing new uninspiring relative unknowns... I have no idea why people are concerned about appointing this man.
This article suggests that, like Poch, he doesn't play wingers, with his preferred formations being 352 and 442 diamond. So us signing Redmond is a bit strange?
Unless that was what the board asked him to play at Nice? Or that he is flexible and can play multiple formations. But 4-3-3 must be what we are going for if Redmond and even Kostic are coming in, two out and out wingers.
FLT-this article is very positive; just the sort of article we need to see about him. Addresses the concerns I was raising before. Fran; many thanks for posting this; makes for a good read!
This is the most crucial appointment since Nigel. Needs to hit the ground running, european football may just help us this time.
Had no view on Puel, but others were making me nervous, so I found this reassuring. Apparently Puel was always a front runner and not a back up plan (according to ITKs ). Mustn't get too fond though....remember Garcia.
I'm really up for getting behind Puel now and from what I hear from my source very very likely (although same source thought Pellegrini very likely several days back). My instant reaction when he was first linked was the same as many - slightly underwhelmed and not sure about a Frenchmen (probably subconsciously swayed by most recent experience of Remi Garde). But my feelings were not based on any facts and now I've read some of the articles put forward I think he looks like a really good fit against our requirements. I really do trust the board because of their recent track record and of course they may not get everything right and Puel might not work out. But I'm happy they will have done their normal good work and due diligence and got who they consider to be the right man. Let's do this!
''I think they've played a blinder here. Take so ****ing long that no-one actually gives a **** anymore''. Took the above from Saintsweb....made me laugh because there is a tad of truth there.
Lol that is me now. Spoke to my Dad yesterday (he lives in France), and the new manager conversation lasted less than a minute. We're so bored of it that I am past caring and will take whoever Les & co decide. Oh and they never replied when I sent in my CV....
