It's hardly in Europe because the vast majority of it is in Asia, same as Turkey, though to a lesser extent admittedly.
Russia shares land borders with Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, Belarus, Ukraine and Georgia, All of which are in Europe. The part in Europe is the largest land area of any country in Europe. It's population which lives in Europe is the highest in Europe. Any comparison with Turkey which has part of one city in Europe is ludicrous.
Only 5% of Turkey is in Europe, against almost 30% of Russia, but both are still predominantly in Asia.
If you read my post you will see that I wasn't saying how much of Russia was in Asia or Europe but that the part of it in Europe is the largest land area in Europe and the population of the part in Europe is the largest in Europe. Moscow has the largest population of any city in Europe. The third largest is St Petersburg. Thanks for informing me of things I already knew anyway. Even if they had nothing to do with what .I was saying.
This was my point, they're the two countries which are in both continents. No others are. That's the only comparison I was making. Anyway my point is simply, as Happy originally suggested, you don't have to be entirely or even partly in Europe to compete in UEFA competitions, and certainly not in the EU.
