The Pound doesn't seem so attractive now.

The face of the far right in Britain is the face of Nigel Farage. And he has a big smile on his face right now.

Quite the opposite, I'd expect. Immigration policy was a non-starter with the UK in the EU. Not anymore: it's all on the table now.

Do you really think in this day and age people are influenced that much by papers? People are all over social media and the internet these days. I read the Spectator. Their article writers were on both sides. The comments sections were equal leave and remain. you could see that people's sole concern was jobs. Yes there was the odd racist or islamaphobe as well as many that look down on the "lower than middle class" but of the leavers it was pure and simple jobs.

Yeah the numbers simply don't work for Scottish independence anymore with oil so volatile and less than half the value it was when they came up with there independence plan which was based on a strong and stable Oil price.

But they do. They think immigration is to blame for everything - they think immigration is controlled by the EU - they think we have to leave the EU.

Not saying you do, but there is a scary amount of people in our country who want us to close our borders full stop. This vote embodies that.

And its wrong. (in my opinion of course :) )

Amen, and if the economy doesn't sort itself out then people will become more and more open to other radical ideas too.

Not really too keen on how this could go.

I doubt the pound will stay at its current level forever. Markets hate uncertainty and once it's clearer what is happening normality will begin to return. How long it will take for it to become clear what's happening is another question.

Unemployement is already not that far off double the official figures. There are millions of British people doing Kleeneze/betterware/avon catalogues earning £50 a week and then claiming 30 hours and being topped up by tax credits. They have to because they cannot get an unskilled job.

There are hundreds of thousands on the sick from depression and such like because they want a job.

And yes there are a small minority that are lazy bone idle dossers.

the government doesn't care, Not Blair's nor Cameron's they are happy to keep these people off the unemployment figures and ignore that they are supposed to be earning money and not having it topped up with tax credits and housing benefit.

Plus, the Conservative Party will be in tatters after this. Wouldn't be shocked to see UKIP with enough of a result in a snap election that you end up with a Labour-Conservative 'unity' government, if the Tories don't get utterly crushed.

This won't help anyone get a job.

All the genuine grievances of working people that you have been listing all might are about to get worse, not better. The London Stock Exchange opens in just under 3 hours. Expect to see billions wiped off the value of shares; when the economy tanks, who do you think will be hurt first, hardest, and for longest, the people at the bottom or the people at the top?

The turkeys just voted for Christmas.

There are plenty of people in other countries who have the same problems, with vastly different immigration policies. People love to blame the foreigners. Rarely are the foreigners to blame.

DTLW - People will protect their families first no matter the consequence and no matter the offence. A lot of people have had to vote because they have felt cornered with no choice but to vote out because of what has happened North of London. One day you will understand asking people up here that are at the lower end Why did you vote. They will answer immigration because that is how they speak. Ask them why immigration and they will answer "I used to work at a factry down the road 48 hours a week one week 60 the next. Then they got rid of us."

Unless the EU makes real damned sure that Britain suffers enough that those countries don't see leaving as advantageous.

I'd imagine they're going to wait and see how the process plays out before jumping, particularly those whose economic situations are already very perilous.

And you think he will get any more support now? He might get in but his party will not now get a massive boost of people who want out. UKIP is now stuck at its 4m. That is their "glass ceiling now"
