Hmm...not according to my TV Times wall chart. Perhaps the wall chart has it wrong.

Apologies - you are quite correct - the layout of the chart is misleading. England v France if they both win their R16 games <ok>

My TV Times wall chart is heading for the bin <laugh> No, it's my fault for not looking closely enough.

And probably Germany v Italy or Spain in a quarter-final <yikes> That takes 2 big-hitters out. Spain must be kicking themselves this morning.

This is why international football is so fantastic - it has nothing to do with rich owners. It's a much more level playing field. I see more countries having players in the top leagues around Europe - which benefits international level. There's no way that Wales would be able to buy Gareth Bale if money was involved, yet because he is Welsh we have one of the worlds best players in our team without the worry of him being poached.
    International football rocks.

    Absolutely right <ok>

This tournament is opening up for a 'lesser team' to go a long way and that includes Poland (yet to concede a goal, but need to get Lewandowski firing on all cylinders), Croatia (whose tactics against Spain were spot on and might have won all 3 games if it weren't for their stupid fans lobbing flares on the pitch), Wales who are looking increasingly comfortable on the big stage and the winner of Group F (?) v. runner-up in group E (most likely Belgium?).

One of those 4 could easily reach the final.

Belgium could be very pleased that Italy beat them 2-0 in their opening game!

Isn't it nice to see an international tournament not work out the way the organisers planned.

Agree. There's a few teams that are considered as minnows but have 1-2 genuine world class players who can hurt teams that play as a well drilled unit.
The draw has opened up so much we could see another Greece win this tournament. And I wouldn't back against us after the Russia game.

Personally, I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the Russia game. They had to win, but seemed to go about it the wrong way, that is gung-ho from the first whistle which left themselves wide open at the back for the entire game. This was in total contrast to when England played them when Russia were very defensive and got their 'reward' in injury time for a point.

But, hey, you can only play against what the opposition do, and Wales deserved to win the group. <ok>

I agree with this ^^^^^. Don't expect another team to make the same mistakes next time. But even getting to the last 16 is a major achievement for us.

I want them to lose and Iceland o go through, I know it probably makes it a little easier for England, but hate Ronaldo.
